To be fair, most asians hate anyone who's not their flavor of asian.

It's why I chuckle whenever people think that the US is the most racist nation on this planet.

Immediately points out who has never actually traveled outside the US.

I empathize with them. I don't want a bunch of Yankees clogging up 65 for 7 months out of the year, either. Other Deep South baws are slightly more welcome.

That's about the size of it.

Other than this year my wife and I spend 3 weeks on Kauai every year, going on 15 years now. Through my wife's unfathomable charm we have become good friends with two families. They invite us to family luaus and get us local discounts with the dive companies and other tourist activities. But they make no bones about it, we are their token haole friends. They also understand they monetized their culture and paradise and it was primarily their own choice but they also feel it has been a net negative for many of the natives.

I used to have to go to the “ninth island” for work fairly often, and they are - on the whole - awful folks. High rates of criminality, low education, high drug involvement...

They really don’t like it when you call them haole when they’re the outsider.

I've heard this before.. Actually someone told me that Hawaiians were racist AF. I never really put much thought into it or took what they said all that serious.

But there is a segment in every state that isn't all that welcoming to "new" people.

Cut 65% of federal money going there and see how it works out, or let them do their own thing which would probably be better to watch but even then the American taxpayer would have to bail them out.

Just blow this abomination of an “undivided nation” up.

It seems plenty of people obviously don’t want to be part of the same country.

That's not how it works. Part of this nation wants to force the other part to live life as they see fit.

There is only one way, and that is the progressive way. If you don't agree, you should be made to agree.

I'm rather sad my "Tua speaking perfect English" post didn't get more traction.
