During molting season, they actually can't.

I'd love to get a license to do that.

I know here in baton Rouge they do not migrate. They stay here year round. I would love to know how many there are in the baton Rouge area. I think you would be surprised.
Eventually the authorities will have to stop considering these as a migratory bird.

I live on a golf course in Oklahoma. We had one that was getting aggressive toward golfers. It scared someone so bad that they drove their golf cart off the path down an embankment into a pond, LOL.
So one of the owners of the course eliminated it. He caught some flack from a few people because apparently there are a protected species and you have to get special permission to kill them, which he did not.
But he's also a reserve deputy sheriff, so nothing came of it.
Yesterday when I was walking my dog I encountered 10 of them crossing a bridge between ponds. My dog is pretty big. They didn't get aggressive with us. They just hustled on across the bridge and out of our way.

FYI…You cannot cook the toughness out of that meat. Even with a pressure cooker. Only thing they are good for is sausage, and you have to go at least 70/30 pork. Otherwise you are making jerky sticks.

Canada needs to take their geese back.

If we sent them back, the Canadian healthcare system would have done the same thing.

The feral pigs of the sky. Death to them all

Our HOA just did this in Youngsville with about 30 ducks.
Sheesh what a waste. Why not organize a small hunt with some young kids and some pellet guns. Community meal after.

bets on how long before they show back up in mass...

Egyptian geese may be worse. I think the shite:body weight ratio is greater for those ugly sumbitches. At least Canada geese are aesthetically pleasing. Egyptians are ugly and shite more.

There needs to be a Final Solution of the Canadian Geese question. I hate those little shits and want nothing more than to see them all euthanized.
Posted on 7/3/26 at 2:22 pm to OlGrandad
Why did they not hire someone to kill them and donate the meat?

frequently disagree with you but you are spot on here
Geese actively defend their young and compared to populated area predators they are really good at it and the young start out pretty big.

If they force fed them and then took the fois gras and shared the meat, then all to the good.
Yeah, gonna go out on a limb and say I doubt the Dept. of Ag is ever going to do that.
