Bad look for the old goat. He’s going to jail.

You're no good at this.
And I thought the one that stuck his hand out and made a move towards the man was the one that got shot, but it was his buddy right next to him.
And look, I know you hate the honkies or whoever you are told to hate on any given day, but we have seen way too many videos of these "teen" looting, attacking, killing people.
You really think grandpa lifeguard just went out saying "I'm gonna kill me one of those blackies today."?
You think there was ZERO reason or provocation for his action? You think the little gang of miscreants was out selling Girl Scout cookies?
They marked the wrong mark. Thugs McGee enlisted his friends to help him work the old man over and it was a bad choice.
But clearly you'd have preferred a video of an old man beaten by a gang of teens...which we'd then never see.
It's an unfortunate position for sure. I'm sure that man would have rather it not happened as well.
But you don't have to go ALL out in the defense of any thuggery any time.

In addition to Reed Richard, Stretch Armstrong has entered the chat.

That is irrelevant to the discussion of this man and his criminal behavior.

I never said that.

There is no evidence the 2 boys shot did anything wrong.
None.

You've lost your mind, buddy.

That’s a pretty significant detail man

These teens, as in the ones who got shot? Or people that look like them?
Because the ones in the video did absolutely nothing illegal and at least one of them has no criminal record.

Of course not. I think he panicked and made a life altering mistake because he was afraid.

Based on the info we have currently, this isn’t even a matter of opinion. There was no lunge. No attack. No weapons found on the victims.
You don’t get to blow people’s brains out just because they’re walking next to you menacingly.
Whatever you want to assume about intentions is just that - an assumption. The fact is that his response does not meet the legal standards for self defense in Illinois.
And come on, there’s basically no world where you can defend the kid in the black shirt getting shot.

Even if we are to assume no shirt was trying to steal the bike again, you don't get to shoot people for that, either...at least outside of Texas, who I believe does allow deadly force to prevent property crimes (not a Texas lawyer so that is NOT legal advice).

Which is why I had to go back and look. I thought the one that stuck his hand out and made a move at him was the one that got shot, and that Made more sense.
Looks like now he was just a bad shot and the other one got hit. Dude was terrified and started blasting.
And I know that based on the venue they are throwing the book at the dude.
We'll never know what actually happened. The dude will have his story and the teens will be Boy Scouts
I guess it's really me hoping this dude had at least some provocation before he started blasting because if not and he was just waiting to off some truly innocent teens...that's heinous and hang him.
I just don't see that being the reality of the situation.

Why are you so hyperbolic?
It doesn't have to be either extreme. There was a previous non-violent incident. Guy was in a bad neighborhood and the kid who had stolen his bike earlier may have tried again, and he panicked. He didn't have to be lying in wait to kill somebody to frick up. Life is pretty much always much more boring than the histrionics people vomit online.
This is more a lesson for people who carry who aren't well trained and are likely to panic in the same way and hurt innocent people in the same way. People like to play billy badass online or in their heads and are not prepared if an actual incident happens, but they still carry and have a quick trigger finger anyway.

You don't see this as provocation? If this is what happened and the thug went and recruited his gang of buddies...you don't think this at least somewhat makes more sense?
This guy is no hero, but the "victims" are likely less than innocent and this was more a game of FAFO gone wrong than anything.
But rest assured the media will paint the old man as a dead eyed killer and the teens as innocent angels.

If the shooter and victims had a history, I'm sure there will be a plethora of eyewitnesses willing to testify in the defendant's behalf.

Bad look for the old goat. He’s going to jail.
This dude is beyond screwed.
Terrible look. I get being on your toes and all but there was not an aggressive action made his way.

more fodder for the “they be hunting us on the streets” crowd. Even if they were trying to steal his bike you give them the fricking bike. It’s the first thing you are taught about rules of engagement in concealed carry class…property defense is not a good shoot

For using deadly force? No
For shooting a 100% innocent kid? No
This is going to be THE example of exactly how not to handle yourself while carrying moving forward. He did basically everything wrong.

I mean you had them pegged as guilty, feral thugs before you even knew which one of them actually got shot so it doesn’t sound like you’re much better, you know?
