Of course, this is my favorite Pollock, No. 12B. It represents man's fear of death and the Freudian dream interpretation. It's just fabulous!

Oh my! I'm terribly sorry ole chap, that's a pic of my dog's vomit. But it eludes a certain emotion from me, which I'm trying to ascertain.

Any clown can lease a Ferrari. A true baller has a collection of art.

I'm sure if I can come up with a pretentious name, Frank Zappa would pay handsomely for it.

I'll call it: Rambeaux's Struggle With Alpo: No.1

It represents my dog's struggle to acclimate his intestinal tract to a new dog food, and his subconscious desire to kill me.

This, is why I called you pretentious.

His paintings represent nothing! It's fricking paint splatter for God's sake!

His process? Dip brush in can, sling paint on canvas. Such talent!

Not only are you a pretentious a-hole you are a smug, obtuse prick.

I'm not even all that into modern art. ONCE AGAIN though, YOU are the one acting like a pretentious a-hole b/c you have deemed an entire style of art, one that you openly admitted you don't understand, as worthless and not worthy of qualifying as art.

I'm sorry that you yourself don't instantly see meaning in his art or know what his message is but just b/c a person doesn't know doesn't mean it's automatically inferior and has no point.

What is the meaning of a random painting of a pasture? Is it just to show a pretty picture? Is it a commentary on man vs nature? Or maybe an idealistic take on what no longer exists in a specific are? How are you supposed to know unless you actually know something about the artist, the era they were in, and what was being creating compared to their work at the time?

I may be an a-hole and a prick, but I'm not pretentious or obtuse. I see through people like you like glass. You pretend to find meaning or beauty in things that have none, or agree with others who you think know what they're talking about. You have a weak mind and can't admit truths. You probably think The Piss Christ is art instead of just a crucifix in a jar of piss.

Paint splatters don't mean or portray anything. Pollock probably laughs at the people who pretend to know what's going on in his "art".

He kicked a couple paint cans over on a canvas one day, someone thought it looked cool and bought it, then he figured out how to bilk money from stupid people

Gave the quiz to my 9 year old son who doesn't know Jackson Pollock from Michael Jackson and told him "pick whether each painting was done by a kid or an adult artist named Jackson Pollock." He got 9 out of 10 correct.

Just watched a video of a guy exlaining the process Pollock used to create his art. He made his own during the explanation. It looked EXACTLY like a Jackson Pollock painting.

Okay, now do the same thing with 10 paintings by DaVinci and see how many he gets.

No way man! Pollock was a genius! No one can recreate his passion, angst and expression of paint splatter like he did. It'll never be recreated!

I really like some of Pollock's paintings, but I know I can recreate something similar to them. I know that's not the point, and way more goes into expensive art like this, but I could do it. I know it wouldn't mean shite, but if I ever have the urge to put something like a Jackson Pollock in my house, I'll do my own. It would even mean more to me since it would be of my own doing. Looks fun, too.

If you want to add a literal splash of color to a room, it may work, but I'm no fan of Pollock or most abstract artists.

That's what gets me is the desire to call anything they do "art".

Put a crucifix in a jar of piss and call it art? Please.

I fricking hate the modern "art world". Nothing but a bunch of talentless hacks who circlejerk each other about how brilliant and talented they are.

You missed that point of the post. Tell me why David is so great. His penis?

Let's see Michelangelo sculpt this:

Ron Mueck, is this a talentless hack?

It's beautiful. The perfect male body despite the tiny penis (no homo), and the fact it was sculpted out of marble is incredible.

Never heard of him or seen his work, but he's obviously extremely talented. What's your point? Are these modern artist? If so, these are not the talentless hacks of modern art that I despise.
