A friend of mine works for the government. Last week his office held a harassment training where they were given a handbook to be followed in 2018.

It included:

No physical contact, even when greeting. This includes handshakes and hugs.

One is not allowed to use the term, "yes,no sir" or "yes, no ma'am". Sir or Ma'am should be substituted with someone's title. ie. Yes administrator. Yes mail room clerk.

No using terms of endearment like, "sweetie." I understand this, but "Millennial" was listed as an example. You can't call someone a millennial. No calling someone, "dude" or "brother".

No compliments in regards to physical appearance including compliments on clothing. You also can't tell someone you like their perfume or cologne.

No suggesting physical activity. You can't ask someone if they work out or what gym they go to.

No referring to someone's sex or race. Ie. The woman that sits at the front desk. The asian guy in accounting.

I want to see men and women protected, but some of this is going overboard.

I had someone shake my hand at work this morning. I feel harassed. #METOO.

I don't think any of that is going to fly in the south. Total strangers will hug you, and random old black ladies will call you "love" and "baby" all the time.

So why would anyone want to hire women if this is what we're reduced to?

See paragraph D, Section 1(a): the rules only apply to white males.

We are becoming a giant nation of over sensitive pussies. I should have been born in the Mad Men era

While I don't believe half of that, I have enough insight to be amazed that the federal government seems to be chugging along as if Obama were still President. Trump hasn't changed shite within the federal workforce yet.

That’s the problem with all of this. They have to push the bar or they make themselves obsolete.

Therefore they can never stop. They can’t get to a reasonable point and say, “okay, this is logical, we’ll leave it at that.”

It’s the same reason you should never kowtow to these kinds of people at all. Any weakness is like blood in the water to sharks, it only encourages them.

Yeah, this is crazy.

Liberals need to understand there will be pushback.
They are already experiencing it.

We had our company Christmas lunch recently. All the guys naturally grouped together at one table and girls the other. The management level employees who came were all female and when they arrived they joked about the separation. What do they expect? The risk that comes with making any actual connections/relationships with opposite sex coworkers greatly outweighs the benefits these days.

How much better life must have been when men ran shite, parties were actually parties, men were men and girls were girls, and plaintiff attorneys weren't filing lawsuits everdays over benign bullshite.
