A lot of times when they reveal the Powerball Jackpot winners, one or two winners will come out and speak. On Tuesday, 20 people walked out instead.
"The Tennessee Twenty" is a a group of 20 co-workers at auto parts manufacturer North American Stamping in Portland.
The winning ticket was sold to a member of the group at the Smoke Shop in Lafayette.
The group has been attempting to win the lottery for eight years.
The cash lump sum payment comes to $254.7 million, which means they're taking home $12.7 million a piece.
And how will they use that money? Some told Channel 4 they'll be putting it toward autism awareness.
Others said they'd like some of their money to go toward Gatlinburg relief efforts.
All said they'll either stay at work or stay long enough to train their replacements.

I'd put mine toward Breast Awareness.

This actually makes me feel a lot better that there's not one a-hole who won $254.7MM. These people are getting like 8 after taxes. I wouldn't even quit my job, just show up a little later and take longer lunches.

If I won even about $4M I doubt I'd ever have a full time job again. And damn sure not within the next decade or so.

Every deadbeat in each of those families will be on their doorstep with their hand out in no time. I met a guy on a plane who won $250K in Vegas and he was telling me how many people were coming out of the wood work. One of his distant cousins had the balls to ask for $50K. Good problems to have of course.

12.7 million
150,000 for each of my kids when they turn 18
1,000,000 on camps and toys
1,000,000 for in a trust fund when kids turn 25
Leaves me and the wife with $9,400,000 at a cool 2% interest rate that makes $188,000 year to play with.
I think I'll retire.
Invest the other

There is no way that I'd ever work for someone else ever again. Even with it being "only" 7 or 8 million. I'd invest and I'd start some kind of business and run it myself. Like a garage door repair company or something where I could choose when I work and what jobs I take.

Yep. Would take $3 million of it and put it safe somewhere to collect interest.
Take the other $1 million and spend like 2 years traveling the world. Not doing anything ridiculously glitzy. Just traveling like a regular person, but for a really long-arse time.
