Some people here are addicted to work. They don't feel like men if they aren't working.

As for me, I would rather do activies outside and spend as much time as possible with my family.

12.7 million

150,000 for each of my kids when they turn 18

1,000,000 on camps and toys

1,000,000 for in a trust fund when kids turn 25

Leaves me and the wife with $9,400,000 at a cool 2% interest rate that makes $188,000 year to play with.

I think I'll retire.

Invest the other

I got 4 kids, no way they getting $150,000 at 18

Maybe $25,000 at 21 and pay off all their college debt. About 30 they'd get probably $100,000.

This actually makes me feel a lot better that there's not one a-hole who won $254.7MM. These people are getting like 8 after taxes. I wouldn't even quit my job, just show up a little later and take longer lunches.

Yeah but your job isn't that hard...

I'd get a penis reduction. I need about 4 inches trimmed off of this mule. Tired of folding it in half just to get it in my pants.

The $12.7 million IS after taxes

Nah. The 254.7 is the lump sum pre-tax. Powerball's jackpot amount is the total they pay you over 20 years; the lump sum is the amount in the coffers at the time. If you choose the payment plan they'll invest that lump sum so you make money off the interest. If you choose the cash option... prepare to cough up taxes on top of it.

Who knows how they're investing it or how much profit they're keeping for the company with that option. I'd choose the lump sum.

The OT: Where getting $8 million dollars isn't shite

If you make say $130K/year, it would take over 60 years to make that much money. Factoring in raises/bonuses/etc. it's still probably going to take at least 30-40 years
