The amount of muscle car choices was unbelievable. Look at this lineup.

AMC AMX

Chevrolet Camaro SS

Chevrolet Chevelle SS

Ford Mustang Mach 1

Ford Torino

Dodge Charger R/T

Oldsmobile 442

Plymouth Barracuda

Plymouth Road Runner

Plymouth GTX

Pontiac Firebird

That would be 1999, the model year of the first Silverado.

For you old farts, how much did these cost back in the day? What would be an equivalent car purchase in today’s market?

That '69 GTO Judge in Racing Red (although it was actually orange) was the first car I ever owned.

A lot of awesome things happened in 1969. It was a great year to be an American.

Some pretty cars that year. Gotta go with the Chevelle SS as my favorite.

Also, I think you should have given some consideration to the El Camino.

They've pretty much always all looked the same, within a year or two. Just look at all the current model half ton pickups. See when one changed, and see what years others changed soon after that. The exception being Toyota who leaves the Tundra looking the same for much longer than the others.

About 3500.00 or so. We had the model Chevelle SS before the 69. Black and white with bucket seats and shifter with a console. Dad was going thru his mid life phase crisis I gues. My brother loved it, I was not old enough.
