What is ding dong ditch? I’m 50 and don’t recall this game

Back in the day, boys would fill a small paper bag with cow sh*t, put it on a targeted person's concrete doorstep, set it on fire, beat on the door, and run.

The victim was supposed to step out, stomp out the fired up bag bag of, ...you get the idea.

I doubt it happened as much as junior high kids told it.

My dad had a friend of his shot and killed knocking on a girl’s window when they were in high school, so he was always hyper-aggressive in cautioning me not to knock on windows, sneak in, DDD, etc.

I still did it, of course, but I always thought about that.

If the story is accurate, the shooter should go to prison.

But, especially in the current times, these types of things should not be done.

Reminds me of Albert Belle chasing a group of teenagers who egged his house in Cleveland on Halloween.

Belle bumped one of the teens with his car and knocked him down. Lawsuit and criminal charges ensued.

Oh well. 11 YO shouldn’t be out fricking around at 11PM. Sucks for his family, but he gets exactly what is likely to happen when you do stupid shite. His age is irrelevant, so spare me.

If the kid was doing it right the homeowner is definitely a murderer.

An 11-year-old boy was fatally shot in Houston after a prank in which he rang the doorbell of a home and ran away

Thinking about it he really sucks at this game, you ring the doorbell and run.

The homeowner needed to hear the doorbell, walk to the door, open the door see you running, then go get a gun, come back to the front door and then shoot. He would have at least 20 second head start.

Wife and I live close to a school bus stop.About 2 years running, at beginning of school year we would get an occasional ring and run. I think we had more fun than the young school boys did. We knew that they were hiding close by watching so a couple of times we'd walk outside and make a big deal out of wondering what was going on. Look around scratch our heads, we just couldn't figure it out. We'd go back inside and laugh our asses off. We both had fun.

In your house no arrest

In your yard arrest

My nephew's did that shite in their neighborhood a couple months ago, and the police caught them and took them back to their house and flat out said it was a real bad idea because of this possibility. Which sucks, because I used to do that same shite when I was their age. Sad times we live in.
