Check the travel board .. Cuse should be posting.
Oxford got slammed and I imagine Memphis isn’t great. I did see last night that all flights were suspended.

neighborhood sounds like a warzone. Trees falling every couple of minutes.
I've never seen anything like this
ETA another one just fell outside while I was typing this.
Eta2 there's an army of chainsaws working to clear the main road.

Same here. Trees and limbs falling constantly. It sounds like fireworks popping in the woods around us

I don’t think I’m driving Nola to Ruston today.

Am too lazy to search, so TLDR if you wish.
Northwest GA (I'm near Rome) seems to have dodged most if not all the bad weather. It rained overnight and it's cold/windy now, but I don't see any ice on trees or roads.
Hoping all of you not as fortunate are able to keep power on/stay warm and are able to do what's needed to get back to normal as fast as possible.

Lafayette and the surrounding counties are completely boned. Tippah might be the worst. They are looking at a month without is what their utility is talking like

Checking in from Northeast Columbia.
Cars are ice over. Driveway is a spotty. A couple of the secondary roads have accidents and ice. All in all it looks we've the worst possible ice accumulations that were possible but still difficult to travel.
Round 2 is coming hopefully were far enough south to miss most of the new icing. Looks like it's not freezing tonight either so more good news
Good luck to those in South who are out of power. Hopefully you get it back quickly.

we did it because we very easily could have been the people without power. Just south of us in DeSoto got hit hard with ice and have over 60% with no power.
Yea that's what I keep saying.... im southern loop and I know my BIL 10 or less minutes away is out.
Whatever...they are having a good time so imma try to soak up the peace and quiet without feeling guilty lol

A few of us may have gotten lucky and our power company folks will be available to help others.
Just east of Knoxville, we had at 9am 0.7 inches of rain which is all precip totaled. We saw some snow. Everything has melted with temps just above freezing.
It is, however, hellish dark out with heavy rain moving our way. When this hits cold air to our north north-east, that may translate to blizzards.
How much rain is up in the air? Answer is How dark is your home without lights turned on or lamps burning lamp oil.
West of Nashville, there's lots of "Debris on roadways", I'd guess that the debris is downed trees which will tell you where the ice has been bad
TDOT road closures, etc

Is that a line of sleet or ice peaking through on radar over New Roads and BR?

Went from tolerable to downright nasty in the past hour. Cold, rainy, windy.
WLOX app says it's in the low 60s but that's definitely wrong.
