I’m supposed to drive from Baton Rouge to Lake Charles on I-10 Sunday (insert OT joke here). Would yall advise against this due to icing bridges and/or winter precip or should it be okay to make the drive? Would leave around noon. Thanks.

March 93 was the big snowstorm. February 94 was the ice storm.
I still remember laying in bed as a kid listening to the pine trees pop

i mean i don't think it will be much of anything this far south, but over that water, temps that low that by Sunday, i could see them closing the basin bridge out of caution of possible icing conditions...

Current projections here are 5-8 inches on Saturday and 8-12 on Sunday. Fun times shoveling after a knee replacement.

Looking like the models have zeroed in that Central Ohio will indeed get 8-12 inches

We moved to the land of 12-18 fluffy inches so we are only stuck until the county plows the roads

In Summit, just got to get out of my parking lot. Roads are plowed well (thankfully its mostly interstate to work).

When Im staying down in Twin though, its some old man in a truck who eventually gets to it. Luckily, east slope gets way less snow than west slope.

Few mornings followed tire tracks out when snow was like 12-14" deep. Love a good snowy drive.

It looks like the latest run has it shifting just a hair further south for Central Texas. Looks like my trip north to look at a house is on pause. Will be interesting to see how this storm screws the place up.

Our daughter lives and works in Oxford .. she decided she wants nothing to do with the type of ice and outages they’re talking. Heading home tomorrow. She was stocked and ready but decided she enjoys warm and cozy instead of f freezing arse cold and no heater.

I've never in my life hoped for surface temperatures to be 33 degrees, but here we are. I do not want this.

I have a gas fireplace and a couple heaters. Don’t have a generator at the house though

Debating if I want to use the outlets on my Miller Big20 welder at the farm or drag home one of my 24 175kw generators on the farm and just wire one into my meter base. I kinda revel the thought of my nosy as neighbors having to listen to diesel straight pipe exhaust for a few days

Oh man, I'm looking at almost an inch of ice followed by heavy snowfall followed by sub 10 temps.
