3/4" of ice for the Nashville metroplex with sustained below freezing temps would be catastrophic.

At that point id kill the water to the house from the main line and drive south on vacation. No way I sit that out without a whole home generator on a dedicated gas line.

Duke is one of if not the most legit weather posters here

You are confusing him with Duke V who.....well.....is nicer than most give him credit for

For some hurricane maybe 2+ years ago, Duke told us that he’d jack off with Tabasco sauce and sandpaper if he was wrong on his analysis of the storm’s path/intensity.

Duke was right and his penis suffered no consequences from his prediction.

He has to walk a tightrope in here… providing explanations that can satisfy math nerds and weather hobbyists, all while communicating the gist so a Billy Ray, Jethro, and Cletus can understand.

Anything that creates heat is going to require A LOT of electricity. That truck might run a heater for 20 mins. If the truck is running… it gets complicated…

If that’s gonna be his thing then before this storm moves in, I would suggest plugging their coffee pot - toaster- or a hair dryer in there and see how the truck behaves. Be prepared to jump the truck afterwards.

Personally, I wouldn’t expect it to work very long.

This is the most hyped up bs forecast in memory

In 2 days our forecast here in harrisonburg, virginia went from a possible 20 inches of snow starting saturday night to maybe 5 inches of snow with freezing rain just on sunday..

When its all said and done the "model" will shift again and will magically miss us totally

It's fine with me because I've seen enough snow in the last decade. My point is that these people don't know what the hell's going on and basically get paid to guess..

Can that run a small heater or anything, or just charge a cell phone basically?

I don’t know about a heater, but it can run a blow-dryer.

Years ago wife and I were getting ready for a dinner date. Lost power just as she got to drying the hair stage. No generator at time so ran extension cord from my Tacoma in garage to bathroom blow dryer. Tripped a couple times but got the job done and we headed out for dinner soon afterwards.

Happy wife…happy life. ;)

They have us at 20 inches Saturday night to Sunday and now ice maybe, which wasn't before. Ugh, this is going to be bad.

Went to bed it was supposed to snow all night. Wake up and it’s not supposed to start until noon now. I’m going to go chase some ducks.

I love how these stories evolve.

It was the night before Ida and the thread wanted to get political. So I made a simple threat of forcing rough peppery self-"pleasure" if I heard another word about fricking JBE.

That's all that will be remembered in a year from this new post.

Let the evolving begin.

Walmart out of everything it seems

Guthrie's Walmart was in pretty good shape around 10 am on Thursday. I spoke to a manager, and she said Wednesday was worse and they were able to restock overnight. I bought milk and the fridge was full, not empty like that picture in the tweet.

Shoveling snow causes heart attacks. I had a colleague in Columbus Ohio who dropped dead on his driveway while shoveling.

Those of you who are not in good cardio shape need to take it easy.

I had an Uncle who had one while asleep.

So be careful, sleeping evidently causes Heart Attacks too.

Feels like -40 in my hometown of Green Bay, WI. -17 temp but the wind is howling.

Yikes. I don’t miss “the seasons”. We get fall like weather here which is plenty.
