I get your point but beggars cant be choosers here. Theres a reason he dropped out of first round. His age and injury. I rather gamble on an older qb then a hyped 2020 injured DT who played below average last year. And Breese was taken in first round.

Adetomiwa Adebawore
Keion White
Drew Sanders
Hendon Hooker
Isiah Foskey

Any of those and I’d be happy

Probably O-Line... O-line was my second choice of position in the first round.. D-line/Edge was my first choice in the first round..

Hooker would be almost 30 by the time he had a chance to start here

If you draft Hooker at #40, he isn't sitting for more than a year, much less four. He would have every chance to start year 2. If he is the real deal, you cut bait with Carr and roll with Hooker. If not, you have a backup on a rookie contract for 1/5 the money you would pay a veteran backup.

That said, I don't like him at #40 but only because we have more pressing needs than a rookie backup QB for at least one year on a team that has gone all in on winning now.

would be ok with it but I think Keion White or Drew Sanders would be great off the edge.

THIS (White or Sandes) or one of the top TEs would would be a very good roster addition at 40.

My god with you people. Carr is the starter the next four years. The money committed to him, we aren’t cutting bait. We will draft someone in the 2025 draft but we are rolling with Carr and Winston for at least next two seasons.

Yeah it's that easy for us, with our cap situation, to do this

Can we ban this dude? We get it, he hates white people and players

O’Cyrus Torrence is the pick if he’s there. Peat is too expensive and Ruiz is.. Ruiz

.. coming off his best season as a pro and is the same age of Torrence

Bergeron, Tippman, Avila, maybe Mauch can all play two positions on the line and seem to fit the Saints MO if you look at previous years

Or maybe Penning is really your interior guy of the future and you look to a guy like Dawand Jones

Depends on who's available but I would be aiming for TE, WR OG or RB in that order. If Levis or Hooker are still there at 40 you have to consider it but I. Old both coming off the board before we pick at 40.

Jarring lack of depth at

S
LB
RB
TE
WR

And still at DL

There isn’t any value at RB or LB right now.
So let’s go

S- Jartavius Martin, ILL, or could explore some other position versatile guys like Branch or even Ringo from UGA.

TE- Darnell Washington, but there are many options here. Saints had a top 30 visit from Tucker Kraft. Mayer is a safe prospect & LaPorta is more of a Jack knife type TE

DL- Adebawore & Derrick Hall are guys they should look at but I’m not sure the Saints would understand how to use them. So you prob want to keep an eye on the more prototypical DE guys Keion White/Isaiah McGuire/ Colby wooden/ Foskey

WR- Jonathan mingo would be a nice compliment to the smaller WRs they have now. Cedric Tillman fits the bill as well, Jayden Reed is a guy I like too, but again, a smaller guy in a small WR draft. I think they hold off at WR here.

Replace Hooker with a TE (Mayer, Washington, Laporta, or Musgrave) and you've got a good list. I don't understand the fascination with Hooker. Is it just because y'all saw him torch LSU?
