I’m not one of those calling for Drew to be gone no matter what.

However it is a fact he isn’t what he once was and we need to be looking for a replacement. He might have one year (obviously not at an elite level but top 8 QB) left in him, however I doubt much more. Ideally someone in the draft to learn under Drew next year.

I was thinking could we follow the Baltimore and Lamar Jackson model with Taysom Hill. I know he is older but still.

What are y’all thoughts on him / future of the QB position in NOLA.

I've always been high on TH. I honestly believe he can be the dynamic playmaker at QB we need to bring this offense to another level, at least for 6-8 years.

Thrill should have been our QB last drive. 2 1/2 minutes to move and chew clock.

I said this months ago but Taysom is a MUCH better passer than Lamar and arguably as good of a runner.., certainly not far behind.

Prior to this year I would have agreed that he was about even with Lamar in passing, but this year Lamar showed he can throw the ball. Sure their run game opens up some routes to be WIDE open, but I've also seen him fit it in some tight windows. Hill is also a better passer now than he was 3 years ago when he first came to us, and with getting first team reps and gameplanning I would think we could have something similar to what Baltimore has.

I also think he should have been the QB on the final drive in the 4th qtr yesterday. He was a shot in the arm all game, should have given him the keys then

I would bet he could play DB. I would also bet that he would turn his head around to find the ball and not get hit in the back of the head.

Always? Even in his BYU days? Or you mean when he was a UFA? Or when we signed him after being cut?

We need some qualification of your statement to gauge its accuracy

Yes. Even his BYU days. I used to frequently visit Utah and now live there. I follow BYU after LSU and LaTech. The biggest knock on TH in college was health. He got injured every single season. That team was completely different when he was healthy though. I remember one game in particular against Texas where he rushed for like 150 yds and threw for over 300. He accounted for five or six TDs.

You're outta your mind if you think Taysom is going to be allowed to knock heads in the run game like we've seen if he were the starter.

I think he can work in a 49ers style offense. Run a lot of gimmicky plays, with a lot of presnap motions.

Hey, props to you for bringing at least something to support your Taysom better than Brees position. You’re still wrong, but at least you can offer some semblance of evidence. Nobody else does.

I challenge folks to watch his preseason film.

You will see an entirely different offense but effective.

It looks a lot like what Baltimore does.

TH is a 2 read QB right now.

The truth is nobody knows for sure about him as an NFL starter right now because he's never been one. Anyone that dismisses him out of hand right now, do so because they are raw from the loss Sunday and the fact that the franchise GOAT's demise is implied in this discussion. I am glad to of been able to watch this man play for my favorite team all these years. I want him to end this in the way he thinks is best. After that, Taysom will get his shot.

I never even alluded to that. Teach him to slide

I never said he'd be better than Brees. I don't believe that, but I do believe he has what it takes to rejuvenate this offense and allow Payton to be creative again. Opponents would have to completely relearn how to defend us.

I have been high on Taysom Hill since I saw him play qb in the preseason after we signed him. I saw a spark. He seemed to have that killer instinct, that it factor. It seemed like he just wanted to win more than everyone else on the field.

This! Makes me wonder if he would be as effective of a runner if he had to conscientious about sliding. A lot of his runs are dynamic because he has the ability to break tackles and run over defenders. Would he be able to do the same as the starter? How much would the team have to invest in a backup as a safety net?
