If he can continue to build on last year, this is a good deal.

There will be melts galore in here but he was good last year. It’s almost as if players develop.

13th highest paid guard? yeah That's the most average deal we've had for a player in a long time.

at the very least, he's average and gets paid average money

He just turned 24, he has a real chance to outperform that contract if he can keep improving

Great deal as it’s a huge cap benefit compared to 5th year option as well. Ruiz has really come along

It's amazing the amount of little girls posting here that don't grasp this.

Ya hope not It was said in a article I don't know who's that the Oline coach Doug Marrone(returned to the Saints last year) had a lot to do with his play last year. Seems a fair deal for both sides.

He was actually really good last year. Maybe he just needed time to transition from C to RG. Now we just need to draft a good LG next year and we will have a young OL with lots of potential.

There should be 64 starting guards in the NFL. 13th highest paid is well above average.

Makes sense in that i would not want to replace both guards next year. Plus we burned a first on him. If he plays like last year or a little better, won’t be much of an overpay.

He was good last year and if he keeps it up, definitely worth the money.

Just skimming spotrac, only about 18 are on long term non rookie year deals.

I think that’s what Nick Saldiveri was drafted for.
