Right now we would be picking 5th with three teams needing QB's ahead of us.

Would have a great chance to get Jeremiah Smith, Collin Simmons or Dylan Stewart.

Any of those three look like elite game changers. Wish we had done something different than Tyson this year. Smith looks so good but you can't go WR two years in a row with our roster.

At this point it's really all we got this year unless something changes.

If Smith is sitting there, you could probably get a ransom for that pick. Or just take Simmons and finally give Young some much needed help on the other side.

Tankathon has Smith going to the Chargers at #2 overall.

They have the Saints picking Leonard Moore, the CB from Notre Dame. They have us taking Matayo Uiagalelei, the pass rusher from Oregon in round 2 and Zach Lutmer, S Iowa in the 3rd.

Obviously they think we have a problem with our defense.

Yep we could trade those top picks and get maybe several 1st round picks.

Then next year , trade those multiple 1st round picks and take a project tackle from Whatsamatter U. or a future bust of a defensive end.
You know , the Saints way.

This is the way.

I mean I suppose we could justify drafting him as our WR1 and then that slots Olave into the WR2 role where he'd be elite. Tyson is lagniappe

But we could possibly get a 1st, maybe 2 (or a high 2nd) just to move back a few spots (like the Browns in the Hunter trade)

Is any of those players injury prone while they are in college? If they are not than the Saints will not pick them

The 3 guys I want depending on how high we draft
Colin Simmons - game wrecker at DE
Leonard Moore- corner..(Stingley type talent)
Will Echols- monster DT

Beyond them, I’d be looking at bpa on defense…David Stone, KJ Bolden or Ellis Robinson.

Then depending on where we draft and what happens this year, Goosby or Seaton at OT could be options, but I’d much rather the pick be on defense.

I don’t think I’d draft Dylan Stewart… we can’t risk drafting players who don’t care about football

Collin Simmons
If he is available when it's our turn to pick, we better not screw this up. He is a game changer at an important position.

Need to move Fuaga to G and draft a T or get one in FA because interior OL needs a fix and Ruiz is a$$

Chances of making playoffs almost zero.

Chance of picking 5th or 6th - Excellent.

NOLA Saints 2026 Campaign, for all practical purposes, is concluded.

Thank you, fans! See you in 2027. Thanks for your support of the New Orleans Saints.

He will be the #1 pick regardless of who is picking.

A ransom indeed. Worked well for Dallas years ago.

Whoever it is I’m pretty sure they will have a sketchy injury history. We can’t go drafting a healthy player.

All three of those sound like guys we would pick.

The Saints will win enough games to not get into the playoffs but get the 9th to 13th pick in the draft. Thats what they do!

If smith is as good as advertised you don’t forgo him. Many comparisons mention Calvin Johnson. You take him and figure it out later because if he’s anything close to that he will transcend coaching staffs, QBs, etc.

You don’t want to be the team that traded a Calvin Johnson like talent for an extra first for Micky to frick up.

With all that said I think he goes first.

Even with our WR investment, you couldn't pass him up.

Olave being a good WR1.5 today becomes an absolutely elite WR2

Smith-Olave would likely be better than Chase-Higgins (given Olave's huge advantage over Higgins)

Then Tyson can come along slowly as WR3

Good teams find RBs and OL outside of round 1

Defense is a multi-year rebuild
