Pat is on the radio right now and they are interviewing him asking him about his feelings of not being in the Saints Hall of Fame. I Never realized he's not in and would imagine it is well-deserved for him to be in. They hinted at the fact maybe he pissed off the organization somehow and they are holding a grudge. Does anyone know anything about that?

He played 7 years for the Saints

4 Pro Bowls

Are there any other Saints in history with 4 Pro Bowls not in the team’s HoF?

Pat Swilling was inducted to the Saints Hall of Fame in 2000. So, whatever you thought you heard you didn't hear.

Plus, the team doesn't have anything to do with the Saints HOF.

Probably talking about the “ring of honor”

Archie, Ricky, Willie, Morten, Will Smith, Benson, Mills, and newly installed Jahri Evans

Swilling >>> Will Smith

He is in the Saints hall of fame. He was talking about the NFL hall of fame and the Saints ring of honor.

In 1992 The four starting linebackers for the NFC pro bowl were Pat swilling Ricky Jackson Vaughn Johnson and Sam Mills. All Saints. Only time in history

Wayne Martin had 15.5 sacks in ‘92 as well. Probably the most disrespected Saint, you never hear about him

Martin, Rickey and Swilling all got DPOY votes in 1992

I think you are referring to the Saint Ring of Honor. Since 1967 to today and all those players. Only 8 are in the ring of honor. I could be wrong about the number but it's not many.

You’re not wrong. It was tragic Will passed and he was a solid player but purely looking at his Saints career, he was not worthy of it compared to Swilling. He had almost 10 fewer sacks despite playing 32 more games as a Saint. 1 Pro Bowl, 0 All Pros, and was never close to being DPOY. Swilling was a 4x Pro Bowler, 4x All-Pro, and won DPOY. Swilling was one of the premier defensive players in the NFL for several years

You're right. Dude played 11 seasons, all with the Saints, played 16 games every year of his career except for one (his second season when he played in 11), had 82.5 career sacks, 597 tackles, 12 forced fumbles and 13 recoveries and I'm not sure I've heard his name said once since he retired. Has to be the most overlooked Saints of the last 35 years. I guess it doesn't help that other than his first few seasons (golden age of the Mora era) he played his career on some Saints teams that we fans would just soon rather forget.

I'm going to make it my mission to bring him up more often when discussing the Saints, the man deserves more shine.

Based on merit Pat definitely deserves all the recognition the team can give him. One of the all time greats for sure.

That being said though it wouldn’t shock me if there was some bad blood between him and the organization to a degree. Having met Pat a handful of times he’s definitely a bit of an a-hole if we’re being honest.

You have to take into account that Pat was really below average against the run. He was strictly a pass rusher. Teams hunted him in the running game. We were able to withstand it because Vaughn and Sam were really good against the run.
