Sure modern creature comforts are cool and make life more bearable. But that again is a deflection from the discussion. The economic struggle of this generation is very real, and there is a crisis regarding affordability and the growing number of working and middle class families who’s struggle to stay above water or even get started is more widespread than any other recent generation outside of the Great Depression. Birth rates are dropping for a reason. Any young person would be heavily inclined to go to the ballot box for anyone who will attempt to make that more sustainable and obtainable for them.

Think you’re missing the point. Just working hard doesn’t cut it today. Sure mindset is key to a successful life but it’s not that simple. Someone starting out today has a much higher mountain to climb on average than in previous decades/generations/whatever time scale you wanna put on it.

Handouts of course aren’t the route but when the deck is so heavily stacked against you the motivation for change is definitely not going to just disappear. Disenfranchisement of the working class is a real substantial issue. And quite frankly regardless of which side of the political spectrum you fall on, the first party or politician that actually works to address that will be the popular pick going forward. Populism
