He could be used out of the backfield like Taysom.

lol. Dude we need everything

Everything

Besides, mocks aren’t based on bpa. His prospect ranking is around 16 so you could trade back and get him

Meh. He's a great slot receiver who lifted his team to 4 less wins after drafting him. Positional value is a real thing.

And if he got drafted to a good team, he would’ve lifted them to more wins. Malik Nabers wasn’t a valuable pick either, his team lost 3 more games than the year before

Bowers just broke a laundry list of records on his way to a 1st Team All Pro nod as a 21 year old.

You should be embarrassed that you even typed that out.

As long as it's not Jalen Milroe I'd be happy with just about anyone at 9.

I'd rather a good blocking TE, that can also turn into an elite offensive weapon over another OL.

For me the order is
McMillian
Carter
Warren

I think he's going to be a good player. But a Tight End at 9? Unless it's a Brock Bowers type (which Warren is not) I just don't like the value.

Now...if you told me we traded down to 14-16 and got an extra third or more and then we took him, THEN I could get on board.

This year, the Saints may still have bigger needs than TE...but they may not have the better players from which to choose from.

We are picking 9th. We will have our pick of the best at several positions. Most of which are more valuable than the te position.

There’s a chance we can pick the first wr, de, DT, olineman, or cb.

This is a decent TE draft. Would be ok waiting if it meant we could get a Loveland, Mason Taylor or Fannin after day 1

None are as complete as Warren, who I think can return similar value than Bowers, just in different ways. He’s not going to go 110/1200 but he can do everything well and will have 3” and ~20 lbs on the bower/mcbride TE archetype. Warren is more Gronk/Kittle/Olsen (not saying he’s a HOF)

Warren is a great player, but they shouldn’t spend their first pick on a TE. Literally any other position would be better lol

Where is this dumbass attitude on this board coming from? You don’t think great TEs like Jimmy Graham, Gronk, Travis Kelce, Antonio Gates, Tony Gonzalez, Brock Bowers, George Kittle, etc. can have a great impact on a team?

Whether he gets drafted higher than Bowers or not is neither here nor there. It shouldn’t impact the Saints’ decision.

Great fit. He can do it all as a TE plus he brings some moxie.

3 birds, really. Wipe out run blocker as well. Will get Gronk comps after the combine
The first bird was blocking ability as a TE. But I like the ring of 3 birds better so you get an upvote Gyno.

Beside most likely not being the bpa, we need linemen on both sides and wr way before fricking te is addressed

Do you realize that tight end is actually part of the offense line right? He not a Jimmy Graham pretend TE

Three rules to live by:
1. Never acknowledge The Godfather: Part III.
2. Never waste calories on pizza outside of the Eastern Time Zone.
3. Never pay attention to mock drafts published before the Senior Bowl

I wouldn’t mind the pick to be honest. I think his combine will impress and taking him at 9 won’t feel like a reach. A player like Warren not only gives you a complete TE, but a redzone jump ball target, and a guy you can run on QB power and some other backfield stuff. He’d be an high utilization player. And if he blows up, a post-rookie TE deal won’t sink the team. TEs are cheap and have a pretty low bust rate.

Unfortunately we aren’t a few players away. We need to be patient and build ground up. We could do worse.

Not at 9 but if they could trade back a little and get some extra draft capital especially in 2026 I’d be all over it.
