Cancer is a son of a bitch. Very sad.

Prayers for he and his family.

you know I recall him being on the Saints block party podcast during this offseason. He said that he was an engineer for like 30 years and then got a phone call in the early 80's to come on radio.

He loved talking ball.

Man. Lafouche Parish produced him, Hebert, and Coach O all at the same time.

There will never be another Buddy D but he was our connection to Buddy D. The stories he would tell about Buddy D were legendary.

And as a former lineman, I always appreciated his dedication to Louisiana Line Camp.

And the week of the saints first regular season game. I’m stunned.

Mike was from Central Lafourche.

Bobby was the Pride of South Lafourche.

Mike was a special. He knew what he was talking about despite not being a college or professional athlete or a coach.

He was just a month or so ago.

Does anyone know when he was last on the air?

RIP Mike! To mikes family if your reading this. I throughly loved listening to Mike over the last decade. Driving down back roads in Pass Christian back to Slidell I listened to him often. Was always a calming voice in a world of chaos. He is in a better place, you can bet on that!

Damn….I posted a few days ago when I heard he wasn’t doing good for whatever reason. I use to get his draft report book back in the day. You had to call his house phone and talk to him. He always took time to talk Saints football. Had to mail him a check. RIP Mike D, thank you for all the great sports talk!

So sick at my stomach. Seems like almost zero advancements in cancer cures in my 50 plus years of life experience.

Remember first hearing him with Buddy D in the 90s

I’d listen to him before the games in the mall that connected to the Superdome when I was a kid. He definitely knew his draft coverage.

And he always took time to wish me a happy bday on Facebook every year. Great guy. RIP Mike.

Damn, he was one of the great ones that was a throwback to an earlier time in Saints history that harkened all the back to Wayne Mack, Hap Glaudi, and Buddy D that had a genuine passion and knowledgable football expertise with a local flavor. He was a respected legend in his field, and he just so happened to be one of our own.

He will be missed.

This is truly sad news. Prayers for his family.
