Rip. Had a family member die from pancreatic cancer a week ago. It's astonishing how fast it kills you.

Very recent announcement that a cancer “vaccine” has passed final trials for use on melanomas. Almost guarantees that a patient will not go into remission. It’s a big step and highly likely it can be applied to other cancers. But pancreatic is particularly a bitch, frick pancreatic cancer

Always enjoyed listening to him on the radio and I use to get the draft report for my father until he stopped doing it.

Kinda crazy every other New Orleans media personality has commented on Mike D’s passing except Nick Underhill.
The guy goes on and on about how much he loves the city, the state and the fans and culture and blah blah blah and he’s silent when one of the most prominent New Orleans media members of the last 25 years. Guy is and always will be a fricking poser

I wonder if the Second Guess show is going to be on tonight. Sometimes on Labor Day weekend it comes on on Tuesday instead of Monday. I want to listen because I am sure the tributes will be pouring in.

Visitation is open to public and set for 8:00am at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church at 333 Twin Oaks Drive in Raceland, with the funeral mass at noon. Burial will follow.
Detillier died on September sixth after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 65-years-old.
Mike is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Linda Brown Detillier; his daughter, Stephanie, and her husband, Clyde Verdin, of New Orleans; his daughter, Kimberly, and her husband, Jordan Westmoreland, of Lockport; his greatest joy — his two granddaughters, Norah and Mia Westmoreland; his brother, Milton Detillier, and his wife, Mae, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; his nephews, Paul and Miguel Detillier; his mother-in-law, Alice Baye; and his sister-in-law, Susan Rudolph. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Detillier and Gladys Babin Detillier; his father-in-law, Nolan Baye; and his sister-in-law, Cindy Montero Detillier.
A Lafourche Parish native, Detillier graduated from Central Lafourche High School where he played fullback and linebacker.
He went on to study aquatic engineering at Louisiana Tech and Sacramento State. He worked as an engineer for the state of Louisiana until making his passion for football analysis his full-time job.
Detillier started publishing an NFL Draft guide in the 1980’s and became a featured analysist on WWL. He grew that into appearances on hundreds of radio and TV sports programs.
In 2021 WWL made Detillier a full-time host of SportsTalk.
He was experiencing abdominal pain in late August. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer and died less than two weeks later.
