Every time I’ve ever seen a QB hit while throwing and the ball goes backwards it’s a backwards pass

Well anyone can say they intended to throw a forward pass any time they attempt a backward throw then. They make it up as they go.

When the ball is thrown backwards it is a backwards lateral. There’s no intent

The intent is to throw a completion, so there are no longer interceptions.
