My god LSU homer alert. Lamar won the MVP and you're saying a college kid is a better passer?
It's clear we are comparing Jayden in college vs Lamar in college.

Facts are facts JD is a better passer than Lamar. I don't think this is a big secret. Except at your house.

Lets assume we are drafting 17th-20th. I would maybe move up 2-3 spots at most.
I'm not going from 20 to 14 to take him. Unless we are talking a player salary dump and a lower round pick.

he was at any other school, there wouldn't be 50 threads about him.
True, but dont act like
No one at all is talking about Penix or Nixon. We have to consider ALL option s at QB, and Jayden may very well be the most significant one...

JD has all the tools necessary to be successful in the league. I don’t even know if I’d compare him to Lamar, they don’t really play the same way honestly. JD definitely has more passing ability on film coming out of college though

Dude we will br picking at 10 to 22
He will be available.

I love the Saints all day long, but I don't think they're smart enough to even finagle a way to trade up for Jayden.

Daniels may not be a top 10 pick.
I believe he’ll be at worst the second QB off the board.
If Lamar Jackson can do what he does in the nfl, Daniels as a prospect has that same potential

You don’t trade up for a QB prospect unless it really is a “can’t miss” pick.

Yeah wouldn’t trade up for mahomes either.

You sir, are confused.
Kyler is not slight of build and has a cannon. He's short, but super stocky and an A+ arm.
Posted on 11/19/23 at 9:17 am to cbree88
Kyler isn’t slight, he’s just short

Dude Justin Herbert has not won an MVP and he is surly a better passer then Lamar.
Hell geno smith is a better basser then Lamar

He’s too slight of build, and he doesn’t have the greatest arm strength. He kind of reminds me of Kyler Murray honestly. I just don’t think he’s worth trading the farm away for.

I disagree with you on Daniels. I believe he will put on more weight( you usually do as you get older). He has the arm strength too.
However, I wouldn't trade up for one reason. This team needs younger players and to reduce the salary cap. Saints need all the picks they can get.
The way it's going this season, the Saints could " Forrest Gump " their way into the playoffs and exit the first round, meaning they will pick probably around mid 20's.
They will likely hold onto Allen, and make him replace Carmichael.
Saints need to replace older players to get down below salary cap. Hard to say, Mike Thomas, Honey Badger, Maye ??? Plus they need to extend other players like Adebo and Werner
Anyway, you need younger players to fill that role.
Ex. If Daniels does drop to Saints, I say take him.
if not then go after a Mike Thomas replacement like Brian Thomas Jr. from LSU. He is a big body receiver that could drop to the Saints. Or get a play making safety like one of those Miami or Ohio State guys.
The second pick , you can get a replacement for Peat, or middle linebacker replacement for eventual retirement of Davis
I say hold on to your draft picks , because this is a heavy QB draft, other good players will drop to the lower rounds

I’m not advocating trading up for him, but Murray had no work ethic, JD clearly puts in the time to be great.

I agree. While he might be a good pro I don't think Daniels will win MVP or be as good as Lamar is in the NFL

Lamar Jackson’s Heisman season vs Daniels stats this year in parenthesis
13 games (11 games)
430 attempts (303 attempts)
59.1 comp% (72.6 comp%)
3,660 yards (3,577 yards)
27 TD (36 TD)
10 INT (4 INT)
146.6 QB Rate (208.3 QB Rate)
232 rush attempts (124 rush attempts)
1601 rush yards (1014 rush yards)
18 TDs (10 TDs)
I could give two shits about LSU. Daniel’s has shown to be the better college passer and it isn’t particularly close
Posted on 11/19/23 at 12:21 pm to whodat22
It’s not like Lamar won the MVP for being a great passer. The year he won the MVP he had a 66% completion percentage (2nd best of his career), and threw for 3,100 yards. His 36 TDs led the league, but outside of 2020 (26 TDs), he has not thrown for half of that any other year
