I would take Daniels in the middle to the bottom of the first round, which is probably where he will go. (18-30). I think if he gains weight he will be a above average pro with some good coaching

I am praying that he just blows up the combine and goes too high for any of them

FB, why do folks talk about Lamar Jackson like this?

[quote]Jackson is also light in the arse. Jayden, however is more polished from the neck up

But if he’s smart enough, I think he really might be Lamar-esque with more of a brain.

Lamar Jackson has won 74% of his games and has a MVP trophy. If you thought Daniels would be as good of a pro as Jackson you’d take him 1.1

It really is crazy. The only real knock on him besides health is that he hasn’t won in the playoffs. Which ignores that his offensive cast has been dogshit for the majority of his time in Baltimore.

I'd be all about Daniels, but what do we do with Carr's big arse contract? Do we have the right staff to develop Daniels into an NFL quarterback?

Pay him for one more season as a "mentor" and backup, then cut him. The 3rd season of his contract was not fully guaranteed.

and he doesn’t have the greatest arm strength.

Do not agree at all. His arm strength is fine. Durability would be an issue if he runs as much in the NFL as he does in college, though I don’t think that will be the plan by whichever team drafts him.

Those are two REALLY big knocks.

I remember watching lamar in college and LSU shutting his arse down in the bowl game, and he never has improved much since college as a passer IMHO. I think Daniels will be a better NFL QB as his passing seems to be leaps and bounds better this year and with NFL coaching he could be great.

Not sure if he will be able to run and juke NFL defensive players like he does in college but if he gets past 15 I would be ok with Saints trading up to get him, as long as its not a assine trade like carolina did. He won't have to start day 1, so if he can sit an learn he might wind up being a good to great NFL QB.

totally irrelevant argument. What in the hell are you going trade to move up? Saints have no assets that you can move.

Wouldn’t want his weak loser mentalist anywhere near a young QB

Yea it’s tough to go wire to wire with that playing style. Once they get to the playoffs they’re banged up and worn down

He’s dialed back the running this year, on pace for career low rush attempts. As a young QB that’ll be won’t to watch for the future. He’s got a lot of time to win

Baltimore is still a running team.

take it up with the other Harbaugh.

I mean you lay out that out that big money contract and brought in pieces to help Lamar.

But you still run.

I think they are a team that could light up KC and go to the Bowl.

KC is anti-run and try to feed Kelce because they don't have anyone else.

I thought that too but he's 6'4'', 210. He's got the frame to add more weight in an NFL weight training program. I don't think it's an issue.

He is not Lamar, he is closer to Mahomes. He can escape pressure and looks to throw first. Lamar runs then throws

It’s a gamble whoever you draft. There’s just too many LSU fans that want him which raises a red flag. Draft a QB top 10 and I’m happy even if it’s Jayden Daniels.

I’m pretty sure LSU fans wanted the Saints to take Burrow or Jefferson or Chase. None of those guys are bad choices.

I speak for the group when I say that we are all thrilled to know where you came down on this issue.

Thank you for sharing.
