its pretty cheap, Ingram was pricier and playing the same role. The robin to Kamara's Batman

Yea they definitely know. This is Ingram choosing another team over the Saints, not the Saints choosing Murray over Ingram. They just cant afford Mark.

I like Murray a lot, always have, but he’s no Mark Ingram.

Y'all are acting like Ingram and Murray were gonna cost the same and the Saints chose Murray. Guaranteed this is because Ingram wants more that the Saints want to pay.

Spot on. I'm sure Ingram either didn't like the Saints offer or he already has an offer on the table that the Saints weren't willing to match. We still need money to pay Kamara soon, so makes sense to pay a Ingram-comporable RB lesser money.

Not surprising, MI is one of Cam's best friends on the team and he is beloved in the locker room.

It is what it is. We didn't have the money for him. I'm glad MI is getting paid.

Cam and Ingram were drafted the same year in 2011 I believe. I'm sure they are super close. That's a long time for two great players on the same team. Gotta be tough for both guys.

They determine a player's value, set a ceiling price they are willing to pay for him, and if it's higher than that number he walks. Simple as that

Murray is 29. Pretty old for a RB getting a new 4 year deal.

The Saints FO are PPF-tards recently, so this makes sense.

Years don't matter, only the guaranteed money. And I bet it isn't very high.

I can understand if some of you guys are mad or upset about this from a locker room and chemistry standpoint. But let’s not pretend like Murray is just trash lol. He’s a good downhill RB.

Signing a slightly less player for significantly less money.

Don't want to see MI go, but I understand it - provided we use that money to beef up at say TE.

Latavius Murray earned a career-high 76.2 overall grade in 2018, averaging 2.89 yards after contact per attempt and fumbling zero times in the process.

a J Cook or ASJ signing would make the sum of our parts better than just resigning MI. I could happily live with that.

its clear that the Saints value this role on our roster complimenting AK41 but we're having to make tough financial decisions. I'm ok with the move and wish Ingram great success.
