That's 100% unfair. Mark Ingram is a damn good and deserving back. Its how the cookie crumbled.

If the reports are true Baltimore offered him double what we did. No one in their right mind would turn that down.

Why couldn't we have just slapped the Franchise Tag on Ingram? This is looking like Drew's last year so if we could've kept him around for just one more year then let him walk if he wanted to the year after. I'm happy he's gonna go get some big money somewhere but it would've been sweet to keep him around to get a ring this year

Please don’t put Heisman Trophy as a reason to keep Ingram.
I think this is a great move. Kamara is now #1, and Murray’s style fits the duo need. He also fumbles less.

Ingram 15 fumbles on 1569 touches
Murray 8 fumbles on 1027 touches.

Murray will be a pleasant surprise, and the extra money will strengthen the roster.

The production will never be the reason to question this. Ingram was a great lockerroom guy. A team leader. He and Kamara got along better than I've ever seen two RBs in their prime. Also, Mark's deal with the Ravens is only 1.5M less than Latavius. No reason we couldn't make that move. Maybe Latavius produces and surprises us but as of now, this looks bad on our part.

We're his 3rd team in 6 years, apparently he does a lot less. Stop making this guy out to be some steal, if he were good he'd be locked down long ago.

Again, I hope I'm wrong, but nothing suggests this is an upgrade.

re: Goodbye Mark Ingram; Hello Latavius Murray
He’s not an upgrade but he’s a hell of a lot better #2 option than some other teams have and a lot better than what we had behind MI and Kamara last season. Murray won’t put up Ingram’s numbers because I doubt he gets that kind of workload but he’s going to touch the ball 5-7 times a game and maybe more depending on the game plan.

Murray excels when he’s not the only option. He’s not a world beater but he’s a proven guy, good at the goal line, decent hands and is big and strong in pass pro. He doesn’t excel in a lot of areas but he’s solid in a ton of them. I imagine his use won’t be similar to Ingram’s but he will play significant snaps and I think he will do fine. He doesn’t have a lot of mileage on him which is good.

Murray must read this board regularly....
