If tweet fails to load, click here. Discuss. I don't say this every day, but I agree with Jeff Duncan here.

For a player that went undrafted then cast off Green Bays Roster to their PS. He did pretty well. Dude earned a 16/Mill year contract.
The dude had potential. He was great and one of the most fun players to watch.
Was their a higher ceiling. Maybe but not in that system.

Dennis Allen wasted Taysom cause he had to cater to Derek carr’s bitch arse

Taysom is Superman to Mormons and Chad. Can't really take their over the top statements seriously.

Uhhhhh. No disrespect to Taysom, but he wasnt a QB.
Career Stats as a QB
Comp% 63.3 That aint good
Avg Yards Per Play 7.9 not good
TDs 12 in 8 years
Ints 9 in 8 years
Sacked 29 times 3x as many sacks as TDs
Passer Rating 88.5 Might be his best stat

So Jameis wasn't a QB either then? Because he had a slightly better TD:INT ratio, but worse career completion % (61.1), worse avg yards per play (7.6), and a worse passer rating (86.3) than Hill.
The circumstances of 2021 did Taysom no favors. He injured his throwing hand in his first start (vs. Dallas) and was throwing to the likes of Marquez Callaway, Deonte Harty, & Lil'Jordan Humphrey.
When Taysom was healthy and had a legit #1 WR (M. Thomas) to throw to the year before, he had a 72% completion rate in his starts.
Additionally, you can't not factor in rushing stats for a running QB. Taysom easily averaged over 50 yards on the ground (to go along with 6 total rushing TDs) for his full-game starts.

Taysom is the guy you lose your girl too.
Taysom is the guy that got promoted over you.
Taysom is the man that proves it everyday.
Taysom puts the work in.
You wish you were Taysom.
Taysom would have 10 Miles of women waiting in line to have his kid.

Those are decent numbers for the league. Now the other numbers suffer for how he was used in our system.

It’s the truth and we all know it. I’ve seen multiple posts over the years about using him more. Coach More would have maxed out the potential and that’s a fact also.

If Tim Tebow can win a playoff game then taysom can do more than he's done.

If he was the starting QB his career would have been half as long as it was. He got injured a lot the more we used him. Payton used him exactly like he was supposed to.

78 % winning record when starting at QB? Google search says Taysom Hill only started 9 games in his NFL career. That's like saying an LMB player should be in the Hall of Fame because he hit .350...over a 20 game stretch.

I agree. Taysom should have been the starter after Jameis went down. We should have built around Hill or Winston instead of Carr.

Taysom did about as much as he could have with the Saints.
You can “what if” and “should have” forever but Peyton knows more about NFL QB abilities and capacities than does some yahoo on the interwebs.
The Saints invested in him, if they’d have thought he could be the year-to-year starter, they’d have done it.

He was not going to make it as a full time starting quarterback.
My complaint is that we didn’t have him on the field enough. We used him too sparingly at other positions.

A heavier workload at positions other than qb would've meant even more injuries.

We literally experienced him at starting QB. Our eyes saw the quality of throws being way under par to consistently keep up in this league.
Loved Taysom on the team but let’s not act like he didn’t get a fair shot at starting QB

I don't think he should have been forced into the starting role. However, I think Taysom was a bit misused in that he should have passed the ball a bit more. Teams nearly always sold out for him running. Mixing in a few more passes would have made him even more dangerous.
