Besides AP what active RBs do you think will be a future HOFer?

Considering the way the game is played today combined with the current stable of eligible RBs that include:
Fred Taylor
Roger Craig
Corey Dillon
Ricky Watters
Edgerrin James

Of course there are arguably more but I highlighted these because of the way the game is played. I don't see anyone surpassing their accomplishments. This got me to thinking after LT got in it looks like AP in a one man race as far as active players go. Still lots of football to be played obviously and there is certainly some talented guys out there but what do y'all think?

The real question is: Does AP go in as a Saint?

Disagree. Gore and Peterson are pretty much in and Shady and Bell have work to do.

David Johnson if he continues his production, Le'Veon's great too, Saquon's got the sauce if he can produce at this level from all facets its likely he could be inducted too, Zeke reminds me so much of Emmitt he keeps up his production probably the same outcome so many great and diverse backs out there could be a list

Bell will get there if he can continue to carry this massive amount of workload for a few more seasons.

Gore doesn’t have the accolades but being (most likely) the 4th all time leading rusher has to mean a lot.

McCoy has a shot but I don’t know how much of one

Gurley is the type of player who could be in this convo in 4 years but don’t trust him from a health perspective.

Kamara if he stays a Saint and Brees plays 3 more years. And then plays solid after that with a lesser replacement in same offense.

Ezekiel Elliott could be that type of player.

Fournette - see Gurley.

How is Roger Craig still not in the HOF? He was the prototype West Coast RB weapon.

In 1985, he was the first rb to have 1,000 rec yds and 1,000 rushing yards (& 15 tds), and only Marshall Faulk has duplicated that feat. In 1988, he won OPOY with 1500 rush/500 rec.

If he never makes it in, Kamara has no shot either splitting snaps like Craig did.

All interesting names. I'm not convinced about David Johnson at this point but what do I know. Heck, at one point you couldn't convince me that Priest Holmes, Arian Foster or even Jamaal Lewis were not destined for the HOF. With that said I do think accolades will play a larger part on who gets in at the RB position. Stay tuned for the CB...not DB debate but first let me stir the pot. I believe a guy like Aeneas Williams is the standard as opposed to a Deion Sanders type as far as HOF goes. Similar numbers but one played with consistent contenders for most of his career while the other played on consistently bad teams.

Lynch had the accolades, but I’m not sure if he gets in or not. He’s not that close with the numbers.

Does Sproles get in? He’s currently 8th (with a chance to move into 5th) all time in all purpose yards. I doubt it, but he’s at least in the discussion.

He's never really dominated though except for his second season. He's always been that very good player that hasn't been recognized as a great. Longevity and consistency is is friend right now. Overall stats look great, but the HOF production and, more importantly, perception isn't there imo.

Really I don't see anyone other than Peterson at this point. Maybe Marshawn Lynch, but I doubt it
