“Yep, definitely!”
Where as if you aren’t really sure, or it’s debatable, then that’s probably indicative that they shouldn’t be in.

I feel the same way about Roger Craig that I do Joe Montana. Loved to watch them play, hated that it was against the Saints.

There’s almost no way the fourth all time leading rusher is going to be left out. He won’t be a first ballot or anything but he’ll get in.

both of these were considered dominant though. They were considered in the conversation for best RBs in the league during their time. Gore, to my memory, was never considered this. He was always very good, but I don't remember people putting him into the conversation for one of the greats.

I'd love to see Kamara enshrined someday and I certainly think he's on his way. So if he repeats or comes consistently close to his numbers from his rookie season for lets say +/- 9 years, but never cracks 1000 yds in any category, do you think he gets in?

I think Jamal Lewis has a chance to get in if there is a push for him. Super Bowl champ, top 25 all time in rushing yards, all pro, OPOY and had a vote for POY. However, he had an arrest really early on in his career, drugs I think, and that could keep him out.
Of that era though, I think Fred Taylor has a good shot.

He has almost no shot. If he wasn’t popular enough by the fans or the media to make more than one pro bowl or All-Pro team during his 13 year career, then I highly doubt the media will think highly of him now. And his numbers aren’t impressive enough to overcome that. Nor was he starter on a super bowl team or anything (not his fault but that usually helps some).

-Frank Gore (not many running backs can be productive for this long, for sure in imo)
-Leveon Bell (few more years of production needed)
-Adrian Peterson
-David Johnson (keeps his production)
-Ezekiel Elliott (keeps his production)
Last years Rookies are excluded from even being under consideration imo. One year cannot get anyone into the HOF, but there are a ton of rookie backs with promise in 2017.
-Kamara
-Fournette(stays away from injuries--unlikely)
-Hunt (production stays from early in season)

None of these guys will play as long as Frank Gore. They are all ball hungry featured RBs in balanced offenses with big armed QBs...mostly. Take any one of these guys and put them in a Greenbay or New England type offense and they're production would be squandered. AP will get in because he benefited from playing in a very run heavy offense and was the best option. Throw back type of guy. Marshall Faulk and Ladainian Tomlinson were also featured backs but caught a heck of a lot of footballs and scored a ridiculous amount of TDs. Today, this type of production for the most part is accomplished using multiple backs in pass heavy offenses.

If Terrell Davis could get in with only about 7500 yards, then a lot of these guys could get in....like Chris Johnson of the Titans for example

Except Davis was a 3x FIRST team All Pro, 2x SB champion, 1x SB MVP, 1x NFL MVP, was named to a All-DECADE team, and was excellent in the playoffs. Johnson has none of that and I highly doubt he ever gets in.
It’s not just about numbers. It’s also about accolades (of who the media votes in as well) and/or being a huge part of big time winning teams. However if you don’t have that, then you must have monster volume numbers at least.
