Couldn't agree more. I remember Payton doing this all the time trying to get the ball back with clock to work with only to end up giving the other team more time to score. I think CKM is more analytically driven and was probably considering this

demeanor is very calm.

Trust me, he is going to need it.

Not using time outs.

That one is a head scratcher

Idk, about Kellen Moore, the jury is still out on him.But at least he shows life on the sidelines which more than Dennis Allen ever showed. I just keep seeing Moore as more an OC than headcoach.

We have the coach…,

We just lack everything else.

This team still has the worst owner and GM in the league……. The saints will never be championship caliber with those 2 signing checks and making decisions.

The ignorance to not rebuild before Brees retired has cost this franchise years….. and the fans keep hanging on thinking all of it will change with a new coach.

I think it's pretty clear that he needs a lot of work in this department

This is a guy that is scouting, drafting, trading and coaching to try and win and he's still making fatal errors in every aspect

I don't think Kellen is the guy. Unfortunately, we are probably stuck with him as this isn't a desirable position. Hopefully, he can develop.

To be fair, our number 1 WR has the drops, is extremely fragile, and half asses routes half the time. Shaheed is finesse as well. JJ is inconsistent. Cooks is small and finesse. Vele isn't up to speed. O Line sucks and is injured. G Rat isn't supremely talented to overcome a weak WR group and poor o line. Vele isn't up to speed yet and wasn't even on the field in key spots where we could've used a legitimate jump ball target. I don't think "going for it" solves the talent gap.

I can tell he’s way better than DenisAllen. Not expecting much from the team this year but I hope they compete. Moore will be a good coach

So it’s a good idea to limit yourself on possessions? That’s the stupidest thing I ever heard of. We woukd have got the ball back with about 1:40 left and one timeout. That’s an eternity in the nfl.

We should just kick off before both halves. That’s effectively what he did here. Big rookie mistake. Hopefully the media hammered him after the game and he learns from it.

Even though I understood why he was doing it, he could have still taken a timeout once or twice so the clock ran a little (since they also had 3 timeouts and he was worried about a 3 and out) but not out, ran 3 times to see where we stood, and adjusted from there. Worst case they get the ball back with about 30 seconds and we just play defense how we had been that game and would have been fine. If Murray scrambled it would have only helped us.

Those kind of penalties are avoidable
with discipline. I expect to see improvement.

End of half clock management and penalties.

I have no other gripes.

I think he just overthought it. Or, he didn't want to put Rattler in a pressure situation where a costly turnover could happen right before the half and Arizona still had their timeouts.

He's not going to say it out loud, but he knows his offense has limitations. Particularly at QB...regardless of who it is. At that point he was hoping to hold AZ to 3 and would have been fine with going into the half down 13-10, knowing the Saints would get the ball to start the second half. Even 17-10 was manageable. He didn't want to risk digging a big hole in the first half by going down 24-10.

I get why you’re saying it but this is an insane statement to make after he’s coached exactly one game
