We would have to attach multiple picks with Jrue to get him. I know multiple people will say “ERRONEOUS” but I promise you it’s true.
really don’t think that’s true. Heat want to win NOW. They’re desperate to give Butler another “star”. Their team has done well so far but Pat Riley knows they need an elite type player to take them to the next level.

Right and we don’t have anyone that would give them that. They’re not trading Herro for Jrue.

MIA is a tough trade partner, would have to be a pretty complicated deal.

Here’s shams on the pels from yesterday

quote:

With No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson back in the lineup, the Pelicans are informing teams that they plan to see this roster through and evaluate the core of Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Jrue Holiday and Lonzo Ball for a longer period of time, according to sources. Will that change between now and Feb. 6?

Not a chance. For a team looking to make a serious run, players like Herro are expendable if you can get a player like Holiday.

exsctly and they already have there 3 pt guy in Duncan Robinson. Adding more defense with some passing ability would be a big get for them

Derrick Favors conspicuously not listed in that group.

Derrick Favors

Can't trade your only true Center. His effect on this team shouldn't be undervalued.

His equivalent is honestly bogut for the early gsw. Plays a solid 20 mpg and contributes in multiple ways not seen on the stat sheet. Losing him lost them a ring.

you can if you don’t plan on meeting his salary demands this offseason.

Hard to predict that now but I don't think it's going to be higher than 20mil a year.

I can only hope that's just posturing. They need to jettison Jrue's salary eventually, anyway. His value is only going to decline.

i’m cool with that if it’s a 2 yr deal. Anything longer than that unless there’s a team option starts looking bad.

Favors was never apart of the long-term plan. Add that to the fact that Zion has looked good in limited minutes at the 5 and I don't know if Favors is worth the $15 mil+/yr he will undoubtedly command.

question is, at this point, who would you like to be the third big in a 3-man rotation with Zion & Hayes?

Perhaps someone that Griffin is thinking about trading for.

On the latest In The NO podcast, Shamit makes a pretty good case for trading Favors. Not only will he be overpaid for future production if you resign him thanks to Jaxson's emergence, he thinks BI and Jrue are struggling because Favors + Lonzo + Zion is screwing up the spacing like everyone thought it would.

Way too early to make that conclusion, but Shamit is throwing out Fletcher trades for players like Love.

here's all the players graphed by TPA (total points added).

the three guys at bottom left (bad zone) are frank, NAW and moore. everyone else (except williams) is net neutral or positive. if the pels are going to be sellers, it wont be selling off a neutral or negative player. that (selling) can only mean holiday, favors or redick.

of those three, favors due to contract is really the only likely candidate
