I'm sure they'll initiate back channel discussions but I wouldn't expect a hire be made for all of it until April or May.

Sorry that I'm typing these out but more from Woj:

"Ownership was lived with an injured Anthony Davis leaving the arena during Thursday night's game, sources say. Gayle Benson is telling associates she wants an overhaul of the Pelicans a search for a GM to take command of Davis trade talks and the reshaping of team's future."

Dell Demps died for your sins just doesn't have the same nice ring to it as HInkie does.

The way Gentry has handled the media with the AD situation has been honorable, which I think is why he will be allowed to finish out the season.

But make no mistake, the new GM needs to fire him and move in a new direction in the summer.

Speaking of that PTLSU...

Woj:

"Ownership and senior management have been pleased with coach Alving Gentry and his staff and believe players are largely responding in what's been a tumultuous strech"

Probably the only reason why he'll be let go after the season. Respect

There is a difference between being a troll, and being fricking stupid. I think most of them are the latter.

with the timing of this, I do wonder if dell was in the camp of wanting to take the lakers deal

More than bad trades and suspect signings, where he lost me was when Gentry’s first season went sideways and it’s January and the hous3 is on fire and for weeks there wasn’t a peep out of Demps. No rallying cry. No reassurance of a plan. No letter to season ticket holders. Nada. Then word comes down that he’s IN EUROPE scouting international players while Gentry takes all the heat. He never really came back from that for me.

The timing is good. Trade deadline has passed so now they can just focus on a GM search and riding the season out.
