He mentioned David Griffin as a potential candidate. I could see it, but don't think he's the best fit. He did help build a winner in Cleveland but it helps to have LeBron and Kyrie.

Those JR Smith, Iman Shumpert type complimentary pieces are the contracts that we HAVE to hit on in a small market.

Maybe I'm just caught up in it all, but now I'm wondering if Crewz actually knows something about Tolzman, Stackhouse, and Gentry (moving into a FO role) because he's dropped that consistently and randomly all over the place.

You guys still haven't FULLY thought this all through and why this was done today and what will happen next.

Remember... I told you guys to pay special attention to the fact that Dell's name was the one on the press release, saying that they would play AD

There is 4-D chess going on here, and I think you guys can start to see why I was saying that I was very impressed by the new direction

Pelicans planning to be aggressive in marketplace to hire a high-level basketball executive.

Does this mean they'll actually hire a guy responsible for the Pelicans instead of the GM reporting to Loomis, et al?

I'm assuming Demps wanted the trade to happen but they used his name to make him accountable as they didn't agree (ownership that is). It's also not an accident that Demps et al never got in front of a camera and discussed all this. He's been removed from the process for awhile. Demps name has been thrown everywhere but he's just been that, a name.

Things were put in motion far before that. And no, Dell did not want Lakers trade.

He played his part in this whole game and I give him props for that

I think it's also a counterpoint to what we all expect Rich Paul to do over the ASB and that is push his agenda. This allows the conversations to say well now that there is a new GM and direction, we get to control more of the narrative and show more of an aggressive stance and helps with sending AD home.

Actually, if you look at the conversations, smart posters say it should happen but it was never a foregone conclusion because of how management operates.

I said this would happen on 1/29 when someone was guessing Demps would stay on because they had to pay him.

Will be the most sought after GM gig in the league, and they now have a head start on hiring. GM will be able to start with a haul of assets and get a new coach.
