Wow the Pels have finally decided to play chess and not checkers. I’m sorry Dell had to be the sacrificial lamb but it will be nice to have a basketball organization be ran by smart basketball people.

I don't deny that at all. Demps deserved it. But I also believe he will be the one that is going to take the heat for any/all "dysfunction" that the Pels organization has endured

Fox, I was referring to consensus

I know. But, I had to bring it up since this is what I posted on 1/29 when it was floated that Dell would stay on because the Pels had to pay him:

quote:

The person that I occasionally speak with that knows ownership swears that Dell will not make it through the break. The franchise wants a star to market in the wake of AD and he thinks if they get Zion that will obviously be it, same with Tatum though Zion is the preference, but they could sign or take on a stopgap “star” to sell with Jrue while younger players and picks develop into more marketable players depending on the AD trade specifics. It is all fluid, but he did mention trying to bring back Rondo with the young players.

So Crewz, they use Dell not only as the reason they wouldn't trade AD, but also the reason why they are playing AD? AD gets hurt, Dell gets fired for not protecting his main asset, and Pels go on the hunt for a new POBO during allstar weekend?

Also, I assume that whoever replaces him doesn't play AD or they come to an agreement with AD to just go away?

This is the part I like. Can we see some reports of Loomis in Charlotte?

I really like that idea. We stay relevant with a young team. I really want to keep Jrue and maybe Rondo to help teach the young players how to be professionals.

I know Tom Benson gave him a "win now" mandate but most of his trades were god awful....

And in a nearly ten year tenure, not much else.

....That should be an obvious problem.

Man, you are an idiot. Check out the thread I started yesterday and how I was happy your butt buddy was in it on page 1.

Or on Tuesday night when I posted 'Wait to you guys see what's coming next"

Give up dude. Hate on my personality but I literally can't give you guys more evidence that I obviously know what is going on behind the scenes.

Weird post, don't even know what that means.

Wait, THAT is your proof?

I asked a question, what are you even asking me to give up? You don't even know what you're arguing against right now. So strange.

First, I've already stated many times you get insider info, and you STILL like to bring this up, which makes no sense. Again, weird.

2nd, are you stating that by saying "Watch what is going to happen" is literally as much evidence as you can possibly give?

Just curious on your opinion, or ATL/corn, is wanting Gentry to at least get a chance next year seeing how the team has responded to a Jrue/Gentry led team really a crazy opinion to have? I also greatly worry how we will look optically if they fire him after how he’s handled this whole fiasco.

No one will bat an eye if Gentry is fired. GMs get to pick their guys all the time.

Glad they finally pulled the trigger. Seems we were in limbo of what obviously needed to happen a long time ago which was scary.

Dell has made some mistakes FA wise, but has made the most of declarations from ownership to win now and has been outstanding finding mid season trades.

I didn’t like his hire of Gentry. That system requires a MVP caliber point guard to win consistently. Also, when Cousins went he had full reign to use that system instead of collaborating with Finch who is a good coach and probably has little to do with anything now.

What worries me most about this whole deal is Ownership. I’d be willing to bet Gayle was unwilling to go into tax to keep Cousins. This told AD more than anything it’s time to go and started the snowball. In Small markets you keep stars when you get them and show a willingness to go into the tax to win, that’s what OKC did and it’s why PG stayed. This can all still be salvaged though with the power of AD as a trade chip we’ll see. I think Dell could have got it done.
