To be clear, this is NOT about Dell Demps not taking the Lakers deal.

The Pelicans organization is united on that front. This is about everything that led up to this situation.

But this is not ownership saying, you should have sent him to L.A.

If ownership wanted him to take the deal, he would have been fired before the trade deadline and Davis would be a Laker right now.
Local guys are having to spell this out in the most kindergarten-level language because people are already pushing the, "should've traded him to the Lakers," angle.

why do you always have to come into threads and derail them bc of your petty beef?

You guys still haven't FULLY thought this all through and why this was done today and what will happen next.

Remember... I told you guys to pay special attention to the fact that Dell's name was the one on the press release, saying that they would play AD

There is 4-D chess going on here, and I think you guys can start to see why I was saying that I was very impressed by the new direction

One of my favorite Crewz-isms is that he has actual insider information but he expects everyone else to know just as much as him without giving that information out to folks.

It's essentially proof of how much he lacks confidence by shitting on people for not knowing things he knows when there's no possible way those people could know the things he knows.

I get it. Demps is the petty, spiteful one and thus has to go whereas ownership doesn’t like their image drug through the mud. So, to show that they won’t stand for such things, he’s gone which makes this looks like a place where we do things the right away and what’s best for the franchise on all levels.

Also, whether or not AD agreed to it last night or not he got “hurt” to show that Demps’ play was a huge risk and brings more attention to the national media and thus puts more pressure on the league to coalesce with him not playing post ASB.

I literally asked one simple question.

How you or Crewz chose to incorrectly interpret that question is a you problem, not a me problem.

Carry on.

But next GM will have compete control regarding head coach.

As I reported two days ago, even if not HC, Alvin could remain as consultant/analyst.

if Gentry wants to remain as an offensive consultant that would be great. he's legit amazing in that role

usually guys don't b/c of ego concerns

I’d be willing to bet Gayle was unwilling to go into tax to keep Cousins.

I'm like 99% sure it was said by numerous people they were willing to go into the tax to keep Boogie if it meant we were putting out a legit team.

Ms. Gayle loves the Pels and wants to win, in a way it is blessing that his is happening so that she can start being more proactive instead of retroactive.

Right, why would they trade for him if they weren't willing to even resign him?

Dell has made some mistakes FA wise, but has made the most of declarations from ownership to win now and has been outstanding finding mid season trades.

It seems that by all accounts, including Dell's own behavior prior to the Benson's taking control, that the roster building strategy was rather aligned. That if given an alternative mandate Dell would of acquiesced, but that he too believed in his vision for an accelerated strategy around forgoing draft picks for late first contract and second contract players.

Even so, from within those constraints Demps execution of that strategy was lacking. On his own terms there was a lot not to like. Him finding midseason trades was typically, if not always, in response to roster building failures that prompted an immediate need. Often resulting in acquisitions that were not well positioned to be long-term assets. Which clearly has had knock down effects on building team synergy and cohesion year to year.

He want to be a "consultant" here, or lead assistant on a team of his choice?

I just want the organization to somehow show their thanks/appreciation to him for being the face of this whole fiasco. he's stood up strong to the media and lead this team well.

he still needs to be fired as a coach, but I have sincere respect for him as a leader.

good question. initially I thought about POBO, but you can't force a round peg in a small hole. Gentry is a coach, not a FO guy. And if we are overhauling we need the best people to right the ship

so a FO position is out.

the other thought is hiring him as a consultant or demoting him to assistant HC. but idk what incentive he'd go for that either

so to answer your question...I have no idea lol
