Current Standings as of 4/12:
1. OKC 56-25 (Mavs)
2. Wolves 56-25 (Suns)
3. Nuggets 56-25 (@Grizz)
4. LAC 51-30 (Rockets)
5. Mavs 50-31 (@Thunder)
6. Pels 49-32 (Lakers)
7. Suns 48-33 (@Wolves)
8. Lakers 46-35 (@Pelicans)
9. Kings 45-36 (Blazers)
10. Warriors 45-36 (Jazz)

Everyone plays their last game on Sunday.
All eastern conference teams play each other at noon (except Detroit), all western conference teams play each other at 2:30.

In a 3 way tie scenario, it's OKC/Minny/Denver
In a 2 way tie scenario, OKC wins over Denver, or Minny wins over Denver, or Minny wins over OKC.

OKC is playing a Mavs team that'll likely rest everyone.
Nuggets are playing the G-League Grizz.
Minny has a Suns team that wants to win.
It's actually in our best interest that the Suns win, which would make the Wolves 3rd, and we kick the Westbank Lakers arse.

Clippers own the tie breaker over the Mavs. That matchup is locked with LAC at 4 and Mavs at 5.

Pels and Suns are fighting for 6 and 7. Pels just need a win, or a Suns loss to stay in 6th. Suns own the tie breaker over us, so we can't lose and they win, else we finish 7th and end up playing the god damn Lakers again in the play in game at home.
Thanks a lot Sacramento Queens. Blew that game big time as they had it won easily and literally gave it away.

I WANT 50 WINS!

Kings/Warriors/Lakers
The Lakers lose every tie breaker with Kings and Warriors, as they are 0-8 against them.
Kings and Warriors are even, but Kings win tie breaker b/c of conference wins.
so any scenario of tie breaker with those 3 goes Kings, Warriors, Lakers.
Lakers need to win to stay in 8th. A loss likely drops them into the 9/10 game, as the Kings and Warriors are playing against G-League teams for their last game.

NBA Official Tie Breaker Rules:

Better winning percentage in games against each other.
Division winner (this criterion is applied regardless of whether the tied teams are in the same division).
Better winning percentage against teams in own division (only if tied teams are in same division).
Better winning percentage against teams in own conference.
Better winning percentage against teams eligible for playoffs in own conference (including teams that finished the regular season tied for a playoff position).
Better winning percentage against teams eligible for playoffs in opposite conference (including teams that finished the regular season tied for a playoff position).
Better net result of total points scored less total points allowed against all opponents ("point differential").

If Mavs somehow lay an egg these last three games and we go undefeated we can get 5 but that's very unlikely.

3-0 cements the 6th seed. 2-1 can but Suns would need to lose 2. Going to be a crazy few days!

We have to beat Sacramento. I don't see us beating the Lakers or Warriors on the road.

Classic Pels disaster syndrome scenario would have us somehow getting eliminated by the Lakers in the play in.

* One win = tie 2017-18 Pelicans for third-most wins in franchise history
* Two wins = tie 2008-09 Hornets for second-most wins in franchise history
* Three wins = get to 50 wins, become second-winningest team in franchise history

Christian Clark just tweet this out. Would really be nice to hit 50.

I want the 6 seed and OKC. Give me the youngest team in the playoffs. Don't want any part of the Nuggets

Same here.
I'd be ok with the Wolves as well, but don't want to play the Nuggets, and i don't want to play the Mavs. I think we would easily get gentlemans swept against both of them. We can beat the Wolves and Nuggets, not saying we will, but I know we have a chance.

Speaking of the Wolves:
quote:

The Minnesota Timberwolves are getting some promising news ahead of the playoffs. All-Star forward Karl-Anthony Towns is expected to return in one of the Wolves' final three regular season games after missing more than a month with a knee injury that required surgery. Towns will be back on the court either Wednesday night against Denver or over the weekend as Minnesota closes out its regular season, per Shams Charania. This news comes after he participated in his first scrimmage on Sunday.

The Suns would only have to lose 1 game in that scenario. We are ahead of them currently, so the same record would obviously get the Pels in.

I'm okay with anyone except the Lakers in the play-in or the Nuggets in round 1

I don't feel good about playing anyone in the play-in.
We're the team with no experience, just lost the play in last year, and the worst clutch team in the league on top of the fact we can't win big games at home this year.

Obviously a tall order but the Pels would finish the season with the best road record in the NBA if they beat the Kings and Warriors. That’d be a pretty cool footnote on the season.

Win those two and we almost assure ourselves of the 6 seed as well as long as Suns don’t win out.

Mavs play the Pistons. I don't think it's possible to lose to them. They could probably play left handed shots only and still beat them.

Go Denver and LAC tonight? right?

Let Denver get 1, Pelicans can get 6 or 7. and avoid 5 or 8,9,10, then pel don't get Denver until WCF (if pels get there)

Whatever forces Minnesota to go all out at home against the suns in the final game. If they lose tonight they won’t be resting players in the final 2 games since they can still get the #1 if Denver drops one of last 2

As expected. The Clippers don't need to win this game and can afford to rest their key players on a b2b even for a home game. They'll clinch against Utah and rest everyone in the final game.

We got what we needed. The team just needs to do their part and win.

Clips steamrolled someone earlier this season with a majority of the roster out, I wouldn’t count them out just yet
