Also would be a good reason they aren’t using the taxpayer MLE on their foreign center.
If Noel fills that role as center, they can use that MLE on other depth since Paul George and Kawhi are inconsistently available.

If you're doing hard cap/no max, you may as well go all the way and do no draft and everyone enters as a free agent.
I'm happy with the system as is for the most part, but hard cap/no max/no draft would be fascinating to see it play out. But in the end, I think it would almost create too much parity and be less interesting

The only things I would change with the current system
1) Have a designated franchise player you’re allowed to go to 40% of the cap for, but only 25% counts against the cap/tax, and you have to have drafted that player (in our case this would be Zion).
2) Teams share local TV revenue. The large markets have way to much of a spending advantage, like Golden State

Would the Pistons take Jaxon Hayes and Temple for free? Would allow for a three way with Knicks for us to take Noel without them having to take on salary. Opens up roster spot for us and saves a little.
