Is he holds his own on switches with bigs. Andre Drummond is at least 7 foot, 300 pounds. Dyson is battling him for rebounds and not getting thrown around like a rag doll. Imagine how good he'll be when he gets his grown arse man strength in a few more years.

It's a ridiculous early comparison but he has a Rodman-esque ability to put himself where he has leverage -- even against larger players -- to get a rebound

The guy has it all between the ears

Remember when people were comparing him to Lonzo? Dyson is at another level defensively and is a true 1-5 defender with confidence to shoot and drive to the basket that Ball can only dream of.

He can be one of the best defenders in the league someday, with incredible IQ and passing attached.

Willie needs to get him on the court more.

And I’m a glutton, so I wanna see him and herb on the floor together more.

Magic was a liability on defense.

Nah, he reminds me of Rodman. I grew up watching Bull basketball (it was all we had on TV) and he certainly reminds me of Rodman and NOBODY else when jockeying for position for a rebound.

he never gives up on a play before or after the shot. It’s something not many players can pull off play after play and he doesn’t even look like he’s pushing himself to do it.

very exciting

another hit for griff and a big miss for me at 1.8.
I was not interested in another Aussie with no offense. I have simmons ptsd just off his LSU time.

I exaggerate but Daniels guarding him is like Drummond’s ex-GF from iCarly guarding him due to the size difference.

Correct. Magic was at best and average defender. He could not defend his position, too slow.

I mean there attitudes are night and day. Simmons has mental issues.

Dyson seems dialed in and totally mature for his age.

My concern with Dyson going back to when I first mentioned him here early last season as someone to watch, was can he avoid the Exum curse?

I.E. being an offensive bag away from being a perfect modern point guard(big, lengthy, good passing, high IQ, DPOY potential, switchable), but just never figuring that part out(and in Exum's case, tragic injuries).

Early returns are he will not fall victim to that curse. His defense is already great and his offense looks better than I expected to this point

Makes sense. One of Nance's weaknesses is that he's only an average rebounder. Playing Dyson with him fixes that problem, just like playing Josh Hart with Jaxson could cover for Jaxson's weak rebounding.
