Yeah, total loser for wanting out from a franchise that wasn't serious at the time, that accepted the status quo. That was .500 and was well under .500 for his tenure.

If he still doesn't give this franchise a chance now, then I will question his integrity. But I have said this for weeks, he has never rejected THIS franchise. He rejected a totally different franchise IMO

Maybe. We will still suffer from depth and potential roster fit issues. I am kind of thinking he can’t be the leader we need from his recent actions.

Do you disagree; or did you not read the next sentence after part you quoted?

AD comes back for the year, the Pels go 82-0, then 16-0 in the playoffs, culminated by a double alley app in which Jrue throws the ball 41 feet above the basket and it appears to be going out of bounds, but both Zion and AD soar, almost hitting their head on the video board, but instead grab the ball and double dunk it. Pels win.

They made a 3 player version of NBA Jam?

the Pels took action to improve the team. I admit they could have been better, but I don’t think you can use it as an excuse after the way AD has recently handled himself.

I agree with your point about the state of the franchise then vs now.
I completely understood ADs initial trade request at the time. His statements and demeanor down the stretch are what annoyed me.

And “Total loser” is jump from “not a winner”.

Seems to me AD doesn’t want to spend majority of his career in New Orleans.

And LeBron didn't want to spend the majority of his career in Miami. Same with Durant and Golden State. Do you seriously think Miami or golden state would do things differently knowing that they would leave in three years?

I will say this again.... If AD had been a part of another franchise that was run this poorly his whole career and he did whatever it took to get out of there and to New Orleans, none of you would have any issues with his character, integrity, etc. You would see it as a necessary evil for him to get what he deserves.

But bias is a heck of a thing when it comes to how we judge things and people.

I stopped reading after that. But his stock isn’t going to take a hit.

It wasn’t the trade request that bothers people.

It was the self-torpedoing of his value to get to LA before the trade deadline to salvage their season
It was Rich Paul giving an essential do this or else memorandum
It was AD saying I don’t know why they wouldn’t love me and then attempting to play the fence instead of taking responsibility for his actions
It was the t-shirt then once again dodging responsibility and blaming the fricking equipment manager

And again, if he did all those things elsewhere and wanted to come to your favorite franchise, you would not question his morals, integrity, heart, etc.

That is just the plain and honest truth

I can assure you that if a player quits on a team midseason - especially a team who has had recent playoff success - I will hold it against him regardless of the circumstances.

I can’t speak for everybody, obviously, and I get your point; but not all of us would stand by that behavior in the name of blind loyalty and fanhood.

My point is you wouldn't view it as that if it happened elsewhere.

Get AD to opt in for year, resign randle and sign Derrick Rose

Rose/jrue/Zion/randle/Davis on the court together would be exciting to watch.

I don't give a shite about people's feelings, I just want to win and a healthy AD gives us that chance.
