Smith sucks and Scott has another year @ $5M. Plus we would have to cut someone. 2nds don’t make the value match.
I agree which is why I said I would not bother. Cutting Miller is easy if they ended up with an unbalanced trade, but that is not one I would do it for.

any interest here in the one, the only, derrick rose?
dude is having a really nice season off the bench, and likely could be had on the cheap. miller for rose straight up works

DET gets off next years 7MM, pels get a reliable veteran scorer for this year and next

we are loaded with bodies, but lack a microwave.
in two years that will be be NAW, but for right now they have redick and...what?

jrue's not scoring like we needed.
ball will never be that guy (nor should he).

Are you saying you’d want a guy like D’Lo?

So if NAW is the future, would you trade Lonzo to Detroit for Rose and their 1st?

Nets get: Jrue Holiday
We get: Spencer Dinwiddie, Joe Harris, 1st round pick

Ball/Dinwiddie/NAW
Reddick/Harris/Moore
Ingram/Hart/Moore
Zion/Melli/Kenny
Favors/Hayes/Okafor

Not a bad lineup.

ATL has BKNs pick in 2020.
you just traded them jrue holiday to go with kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant so the next few picks will be worthless.

On Windhursts latest podcast, he says after talking to 6 different executives he believes the Pels will be buyers at the deadline.

The Pels are in a weird position. They have a ton of assets but at the same time it will be hard to significantly upgrade their current 10 man rotation. AND if they try to win at least a little now while building for the future, you might need to time shift some assets. Like if you keep Moore around and possibly resign him, and with the way he's been playing that doesn't seem like a terrible idea, what does that mean for Didi?

they signed miller to that contract for a reason.
they’ve got like six 2nds in the next few drafts.
they’ve got louzada coming next season.
they’ve got a first round pick coming next season.

Now’s the time to snag a good vet with one good/above average skill. Could be a rebounder, a shooter, a defender, anything. This years FAs are bad

Sixers inquired about Moore.

The Sixers have shown interest in Robert Covington, Davis Bertans, Malik Beasley, Andre Iguodala, E’Twaun Moore and others, per @KevinOConnorNBA

A trade with Picks+Melli+Miller and 1 of Okafor/ Kenrich could get us a solid big man in the 8-14 mil range.

Other than that I can see us targeting Robert Covington or a PG.

Its interesting because Lonzo, Jrue, Moore, Redick, and Jackson may all be in trade talks depending on what we are looking for. NAW and Hart may be the only safe guards.

I see that the Blazers lost last night to the Wolves, and 538 has put our playoff odds back up to 45%, because the Blazers will eventually get Nurkic back and be a better team, so 538's model still sees them as our biggest threat (at 27% now).

A few weeks ago, I really liked the idea of going after Patty Mills, because Lonzo was playing like crap, PG seemed to be the biggest need on the team, and I felt sure that the Spurs would soon be out of contention and would be selling at the deadline -- all of which just goes to show how quickly things change in the NBA.

At this point, I really don't see us making any kind of huge move and trading Jrue or Favors. Jrue's value will be just as high in the offseason, and even if the Zion/Favors frontcourt doesn't immediately look great together, I think we'll have to remember that Zion is going to have a minutes restriction for a while (maybe the rest of the season) and won't ever play in back-to-backs this year. I just don't see it.

So, either we do a trade with just Miller's salary and Okafor or Frank (who are the only true disposable players on the squad right now), or we do a bigger deal where we include Moore (we still have a lot of guards and he has a significant salary).

With Lonzo's dramatically improved play and the recent quality minutes from NAW, I don't think we need PG help. We don't need a pure center unless he can shoot 3s. Where we need help is at PF behind Zion, unless Kenrich can somehow rediscover the shooting stroke he had at the beginning of the season. If it's someone who can also play some minutes backing up BI at SF, then so much the better.

People are worried about spacing with Zion/Favors and I really don't think it will be that bad. When weren't the guards driving? Earlier in the year when there wasn't a credible big playing. When Jaxson entered the rotation you almost immediately saw the drives increase because the guards now had a safety valve on drives.

Favors has provided the same reliable dump off target for the guards. Zion isn't some dinosaur post player. He's going to be attacking the basket like the guards have. He has the combination of size/speed/athleticism/handle to beat his man one on one and the passing ability to get Favors an easy dunk if his man helps on Zion.

Good post. Aren’t we set at PF with Zion and BI, though? Why use an asset there?

I hope we sit tight unless we can pick up further assets by helping to facilitate a trade.
