Tatum vs ingram

Guy at work keeps saying ingram is better than Tatum.
Need some ammo to throw at him.
I like Tatum s game and I have been watching ingram more lately and he does have a nice mid-range and inside game.
He gets the ball way more than Tatum also.
Guy at work saidthat ingram is actually younger than tatum

Tatum is younger, has a better outside shot, is a lot stronger, and is better in every defensive category.
And his +/- is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY better if I recall correctly. Better FT shooter too.

Tatum is a winner. Ingram will be a guy who puts up decent stats on bad teams.

Word. Ingram has stepped his game up since the deadline though. I’m not totally against the lakers package, but that’s like plan c or d to me. The lottery going against the knicks & Kyrie leaving Boston is the only way I take the lakers deal.

And if all were equal (which in my opinion it isn't close); I go to eye test.
Tatum is a fluid player. He can shoot and he does play D. Ingram is a droopy eyed, pound the rock, no-shot, less D, very skinny wing, who will sucker punch.
Tatum all the way. I think Brown is a better wing prospect than Ingram.

Tatum is better. But people saying the Lakers package is bad are just idiots that are butthurt by the whole thing. Ingram is a good young player who improved a lot this year.

Well motherfricker lied. Said he was looking and ingram is younger.
Dude has to lie to probe a point.
He's my boss and hates being wrong

I mean it's something, but your trading for a losing team and not that great draft picks. It looks better on paper or in theory but it's pretty clear what you're getting, a young losing team.
If you put them with Jrue and Randle (I personally hope we keep both of them no matter what), then yea you might have a good team, but that's kind of hard to say.

people need to honestly ask:
is Jrue and Randle better than LeBron+co?
Because that is what you're getting when you trade for the lakers bunch.
When it comes down to it, Tatum has shown he can be a complete scorer as well as a great defender
Ingram nor Kuzma has shown that.

Kuzma is a weak defender. Ingram is a weak defender.
The best player offered in the Lakers deal was Ball, and he doesn't want to play here. The draft picks were a weak offer.
Lakers are nothing more than "an" option among many offers the Pelicans will scrutinize this summer.
The players from the Celtics, individually, are better and collectively much better.
Smart is a defensive dawg. He can't shoot, but will, leadership and heart are worth more than Ingram now.
Brown is a good defender and is a high ceiling player.
Tatum, as everyone knows is probable all-star ad infinitum.

I like Ingram
But Tatum: is younger, has another year on his rookie contract. We probably will be paying about the same for each.
Has playoff experience and seems more like a winner.

Yes Ingram will be a star. When will you knuckleheads realize this. Meanwhile Tatum is regressing.

If Ingram wasn’t high 97% of the day, he could probably fricking rock Tatum. That will NEVER HAPPEN!

@scaryclown you sound like the kind of guy who would love to give Julius Randle $20M a year bc he scores 20 points a game.
(Meanwhile you don’t notice that his plus/minus is -10)
Tatum has a much higher upside. Ingram is a fine player and is probably held back some this year bc he is better in a point forward/ lebron-like role.
Ingram is also in his 3rd year instead of 2nd so you’d be stuck having only 1 year to evaluate whether he’s a star and worthy of a big contract. He seems like a guy that will always have questions marks and that will situation is scarily similarly to the Eric Gordon post-CP3 trade situation.
Now like someone else said, if it comes down to everything falling against us and the lakers are our best offer. It could be worse than their package.

So you want Eric Gordon 2.0?

Tatum is the better asset at the moment. Will probably end up being the better player. That being said I still think Ingram has alot of talent and if he gets in the right system will be a very good player.

Maybe he will be, but so far he's been good. Not great.
Tatum is regressing? I mean he still shoots 38% from 3. 43 was crazy good.
