I didn’t know their political views were in the prerequisite about if their a good basketball coach. I’m pretty sure no one would complain if Pop became the Pels coach and he’s as liberal as they come.

I find Pop to be incredibly annoying. Outspoken wackjob politics is a huge detraction for me as well. I do not want to hear about your politics. Shut the frick up, coach basketball, keep it to yourself.

SVG is a good coach though.

Probably so.

I've been a HUGE Saints fan for as long as I can remember. Bought the jerseys, had a ritual on game day,, watched every single game. All this political bullshite being spewed however has just given me a sour taste to the point im not even interested in them anymore, and I basically just have them playing in the background if I see they're on.

I didn't bother watching the bubble because I knew what it would be. If they start next season with all the political shite, then they'll probably end up in the same boat.

It's not, trying to ram your views down everyone else's throat though is not something I'm interested in.

I'm here to watch/discuss basketball, not what liberal bullshite you want to spew.

You want to do it on your own time, then fine by me, anytime your in front of a podium representing the team and taking to its fans though is not the time for it.

It's honestly not that big of a deal. The stupid phrases on jerseys in the bubble just provided me with entertainment. Danny Green's jersey predicted 14 more black people killed by cops for fricks sake. Iguogola's Group Economics jersey was also funny. Share some of your money if you feel that type of way.

I don't even see anything political during NFL games. If all of that stuff is ruining your day you probably need to chill out.

It’s not ruining my day.

I’d just prefer not even know what my HC’s political persuasion is. Ever.

I want to know what he thinks about basketball and that is. Otherwise STFU.

And therein lies the problem. Looking at skin color rather than the circumstances surrounding them.

Every. Single. Time.

That's whats bad about it.

And the Saints ruined it in training camp with the Jacob Blake stunt, the t-shirts, etc. There's been PLENTY of it.

I want to make it clear I’d be happy with SVG as HC despite this conversation.

Basketball wise, definitely.

Knowing what would be coming political wise if he were hired? Not at all

How could one find out how today's meeting went?

Who do I need to follow on Facebook?

Most people who say stuff like that just mean that they don't want liberal politics brought into sports. I don't agree with most musicians or athletes on much, but I also don't look to them for guidance so I just ignore it. I guess it's harder for most people to ignore.

It’s tough to reason with people who can not grasp this concept. This country is where it is today because of the pearl clutchers who are so offended by the opposition’s views

Yes I agree. I can also say that it is probably harder for people to ignore it because of it being brought into the workplace.

Musicians and actors talk a lot and give their opinions but the music is music and the movies are movies. They don't stop a movie or concert in the middle to do promote a message that has nothing to do with the entertainment. Their movies or music may represent what they stand for but its not a separate production put on for an agenda. And even if it is, its private or during an award show. Not in the middle of a game, song, etc...

You don't think musicians talk about their political views in between songs during concerts?

Not really. If its personal then yeah I get it but other than that no. Some musicians also do certain things to appeal to their crowd, I wouldn't exactly say that applies to the sports world at the moment.
