As for the league’s other coaching vacancy, New Orleans has been deliberating over finalists Darvin Ham (a Bucks associate head coach under Rivers), Steve Hetzel (Brooklyn assistant), Sean Sweeney (San Antonio associate head coach) and Rajon Rondo (a coaching associate with the Bucks). Mosley has long been believed to be a possible candidate if he became available, but it’s unclear as of yet if he’ll be added to the list.

I've heard great things about Sweeney. I'd be really fine with him, and Rondo. Hetzel I just started hearing about yesterday and he seems like an up and comer

Absolutely not on Ham

In the end they'll go with Ham because he probably already lives on Joe's couch, and then they'll tout his Associate Head Coach experience compared to the inexperience of the other candidates

If they pick Ham I’m done.

I guess Borrego is out.

This is what I think Joe wants. He wants Ham and he wants to convince Rondo to be the lead assistant

It’s Ham. No need to get your hopes up.

Rondo is a complete wildcard. He'd be interesting.
Ham is proven to suck.
I have no idea what Hetzel has done to merit consideration.

Sweeney is the only logical choice. He's basically what Thibs was when the Bulls first hired him--the defensive ace/top assistant on successful teams that has a lot of authority. And Thibs is one of his mentors. I look at these names and I absolutely can't believe this is even a question. Sweeney is on an entirely different tier than everyone else who has been supposedly a candidate for this job besides Mike Malone.

Nobody should complain about Sweeney/Hetzel/ or Rondo hire.

Hetzel wouldn’t be my first choice but still better than Ham.

I want Rondo or Sweeney.

Please Rondo so if nothing else it might be entertaining to watch him lose his shite courtside when Zion or Queen walks back on defense instead of runs. If nothing else him then Sweeney because of the Spurs factor but Borrego actually coached under Pop in San Antonio for over 10 years and it seems he wasn’t even a consideration in reality.

That being said, of course it will be Darvin Ham because this franchise only knows how to suck.

Why didn’t the Bucks hire him when he coached there as an assistant?

Different expectations for their teams.

The Bucks are desperate to compete while they still have Giannis.

We are rebuilding and can take a risk on an up and coming coach who won’t be expected to win immediately.

Guys is best to assume the worse with the Pels. That way you will avoid getting let down. The chances are that they are going to make the wrong decision.

Rondo may not have the most experience, but it would at least be fun to watch. Unless we make some blockbuster trade, it would be the only thing to spark some interest in next season.

Jenkins was their assistant a couple of years back as well. So it wasn't a random direction.

They'll sell about three dozen season tickets if they hire Ham

At least Rondo would give them something to promote since they already mortgaged the future of the draft
