Outside is an expiring Poole, our books are really clean and the players with big contracts are moveable if needed. That's the silver lining here. That means more to me right now.

Building for the future has always been more important than what our GM from 10 years ago did to hurt our fans feelings. This will be argued though.

A trade idea that I have (and hate for a few reasons but benefits all teams in some way
Pels get
Myles Turner
AJ Green
Bucks get
Domantas Sabonis
Kings get
Jordan Poole (they'd buy him out IMO)
AJ Johnson
Karlo Matkovic
picks
Not sure if anyone says yes

Only thing with Myles Turner is that he still has multiple 25+ million dollar years left.

This is true, but you also have to ask yourself if, things don't go well this year and you have to tear it down: do you trust Dumars and Co with that tear down?

Which works out when your other 2 bigs cost under $10mil for the next 2 years.
We shouldn't worry about salary. Between Z, Murray, and Poole you have $110mil that can come off the books in the next 1-2 years. The cap increase + trading Poole would take care of both Bey/ Turner and give us a little space for depth.
You'd have Bey/ Turner locked up and still have almost $80mil between Murray/ Z

This is a crazy question. Do we trust the guy who already started our rebuild with 2 high end lottery picks, got rid of our worst asset, and signed the best attainable FA asset the last 5-10 years?
The fans will give the next guy absolutely 0 benefit of doubt and nothing will change from the fans perspective. So yes I'll trust the only guy who has given us a sign of life and direction in the last 20 years.
Y'all hate Dumars but when you realize that you hate all the past GMs way more and accept that you'll hate the next guy just as much then there will be some clarity.

It was a gamble. We needed shooting and hoped for improvement. It didn't happen.
It doesn’t take a genius to see that Hawk wasn’t going to be worth 7 million and if you needed shooting you can find it for cheaper than that. Everyone on this board even said it was a bad idea at the time. That’s not a gamble, that’s poor decision making

You can laugh and you can judge Dumars for taking small steps back but he's the only GM even attempting to make large steps forward.
Fears, Bey, Queen, Mathurin are not the type of players/ swings we have taken the previous few years.
Yes he extended Hawk but he also took his arse off the roster.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Solid piece and 2 seconds…. I see one (1) 2nd and a swap anybody else see 2. And where is the solid piece?

I thought Johnson was a PG. But it looks like he is a SG. He was last listed at 161lbs at 6'5. That's just not cutting it. We need developed athletes that takes conditioning seriously. After 2 years in the league, he should at least be 190lbs. I'd be alright with cutting/waiving him.
We do need PG depth though. I don't know if they start Fears or Murray. I'm sure they will both play a ton of minutes. But what if one gets hurt? Or both? We'd be forced go play Poole at PG and he's not a good fit there (or anywhere else really)..

10th man is being generous. Hawk/ Peavy were literally 15th/ 16th.

We do not. 48min split between Fears/ Murray is 24min each and I'd be happy if they both played 35-30min, then you have Poole.
If you trade Poole for a C then we could use a vet pg but its not needed.

Peavy wasn't going to play and I think this opens up Caleb Houstan to make the roster
Either missed the Houston signing or had complete brain dump. Just looked he was signed last month.

Tell me this is a Taj Gibson Jr that I didn't know about, not actual 2009 Taj Gibson

It was a camp deal. Houstan/ Bufkin/ Koloko. Knew Peavy was gone when we signed Watford to the roster.

I get the frustration of trading a 2nd with Hawk, but...
MEM: Hawk/ Peavy/ 2nd
IND:
Pels: Mathurin/ AJ Johnson
Last year this would have been a steal of a trade.
