two 2nds matter

They dont.

You can't be this dumb.

Didn't 3 good players just get traded for 2 2nds?

Jose's trade was criminal and I've been on record with that.

They absolutely do. Look at some very solid players that would help this team that were traded for 2nd rounders this offseason. Heck, Stewart alone would have filled a hole in the roster.

What about Lu Dort, Isaiah Stewart, and Aaron Wiggins? All would help us and all went for 2nds

Poole/ Hawk are the only (2) players that could match similar salary. If we planned to get Mathurin and move Hawk then Jordan Poole was the only asset you can trade to make these work.

The Lu Dort for 2nds defense is getting tiresome. The $80mil into the Owners pocket is why he was traded for the value. And the team had to take his salary without sending any out which we can't do.

Pistons weren't going to take on an extra $15-$20mil for Poole. Wiggins would have been ok but it if we plan to keep Mathurin/ Bey long term then its just makes it tighter to give them contracts.

Maybe all would help us but unfortunately trades include players preference, salary, team needs, team wants, etch. Jaylen Brown would have helped us too for the value if he didn't say "I'm not going to the Pelicans."

Yes 2nd's can matter and help with trades but there's alot more to some of the examples you gave.

This seems like the mindset of Dumars, which is a small example of why we suck so badly under Dumars.

Not caring about 2nds is how you end up having to dump 2nds to duck the tax when it was otherwise completely avoidable and most Pels fans said it in the moment that picking up the Hawkins option was a terrible move.

Hell, Herb Jones is on our team, was a 2nd round pick.

The idea that they're completely useless, so it's ok to botch the Hawkins option and that cost us a 2nd round pick is just wild

Agreed. There is absolutely no argument to support wasting 2nd round picks.
