AJ had little to no upside. I think he is on his 5th team already. 2 and 4 are correct. Curious to see if they do anything with Poole.

77 games with 4 different teams averaging 14minutes and 4 fga attempted in garbage time at 21 y/o.

Not saying he will be worth anything but there's certainly upside/ room for improvement or at a minimum consistency. If he can't shoot, dribble, create his own shot, or play defense then he still already has a chance to be better than Hawk.

Still makes sense to get rid of Poole. We need another big and I doubt Poole is happy getting pushed out the lineup.

Hawkins for Aj straight up wasn’t an option. And adding Gibson messes up the roster numbers even though he was cut.

You can be happy with 21 and 26 wins the past 2 seasons, have at it. Good for you!
I choose to not be happy about a failing franchise.

Its a new season. We are 0-0. Why does anything right now have to do with how you felt about last year, 2 years ago, 10 years ago? I'm happy that those previous seasons are over and am excited to see the new group of players and who fits.

Because you are upset about previous seasons your goal is to ruin any amount of hope, excitement, and positive news regarding the franchise? When do yall accept you are no longer fans of the team and only haters? This isn't a situation where its just some criticism with a sprinkle of hope, y'all legit hate this team but still post here. Its the weirdest thing.

Will you acknowledge your bias when ignoring the impact of Queen/ Fears/ Mathurin/ Bey? That could be our starting core in 2 years, all new players.

Everyone stuck on "turning it around" or "running it back" that's not the point. The point is we have enough assets to see what works and what doesn't. Enough young assets to rebuild our core, enough information to move on from what we have. Those are exciting things for a team that hasn't really added anyone or shown any specific plan for the future until now.

I choose to practice being a realist, not an optimist.

Again, today the Pelicans received zero positive news.

Calling the Pels what they are does not make me any less of a fan than someone who is too blind to see what the Pels are. Again, it just makes me a realist, and the other person out of touch with reality.

This is such a weird post to make, like your'e basically saying you have literally no understanding of why people have zero confidence in a team that has won 47 games total in the past 2 seasons, and you just can't understand why this place isn't filled with optimism across the board.

That is just a wild, wild take that is, as I said above, completely out of touch with the actual reality of the situation.

That's what media outlets and podcasters do. Fans do the same thing but they also discuss the upside of their players, potential, what could happen down the line, etccc. Y'all have no brain capacity for that. Just darkness and doom. Move the franchise they are hopeless.

That's not a fan, that's a big media sponsor. Fans criticize, media hates.

No, this is actually wrong. Your opinions come from the distain of players who were already on the roster and a franchise that was already in a bad place. There's very little discussion of digging out of this hole and even less understanding of how/ why we haven't. I'm actually one of maybe 2-3 people that have outlined a path where theres light at the end of the tunnel and discussed a team post Zion or headlined by our young players.

I don't have blind confidence we will be good. I do value Fears/ Queen very highly, believe Bey/ Mathurin can be huge additions, and expect Zion/ Trey to either do more or get traded (which is also exciting).

I've talked about what can happen the past 2 seasons, and I've been correct about it.

So...

Back to my point about being a realist vs not being in touch with the reality of the situation.

Or another way to put, a realistic view on the franchise.

90% of this board is discussing why we haven't dug out of this hole, what are you talking about

How's that take worked out for you the past 2 seasons, vs my realistic take on the Pels?

Didn't realize we had Bey, Queen, Fears, Mathurin, or Murray 2 seasons ago. I've also stated we need a starting Center through this entire timespan.

We have not seen the best of Queen, Missi, Fears, Karlo, and Murray. Mathurin is new. Bey is the only new addition we got to see and he was dropping 40pt games. The horror!

The only (3) players that either regressed or didn't move the needle were Z, Trey, and Herb. They also have the most value and can help transform the roster with trades. Again, the horror!

Its hard for y'all to comprehend someone being excited about Fears, Queen, etcc and also being excited because we either get an improved Trey/ Z/ Herb or we finally move on from some of those guys.

I'm cool moving on from Z. I'm also cool with seeing if he actually gets closer to his ceiling. Even if we fail then I'm still excited about what moves we make and who we pair with Fears/ Queen going forward.

I don't know if Peavy's contract is fully guaranteed but I can see a world where they try to cut him and retain him on a two-way.
It is this year, but not after that.

Not if both he and Johnson were cut. Maybe they think there is a change Johnson can make the team (and value him more than Peavy).

Dumping picks for a player they kept another year that everyone with a brain knew had no future is my biggest problem.

It's definitely a poor decision with poor foresight. But Mathurin on the market for what his asking price was also a surprise. Even if they didn't pick up the option, they would have probably still made a move and put themselves in the very same position scrambling to dump contracts to sign him.

Either way, this front office lives in the present and everyone will just have to accept it.

So basically salary dump, giving up draft capital. Will keep eye out for if Hawk can be developed with a different organization

It's hard for you to comprehend that the realists have been spot on about the Pels, and your optimistic takes have gotten us zero playoff wins for 4+ years now..

Being a bright spot on a very bad team doesnt make him a solid piece. Hes a guard that cant shoot. End of bench players arent "solid pieces"
