That's why I prefer Bufkin since he's a enough strong ball handler while being able to shift over to the other guard position if needed. He's an ideal end of the bench guy.

I'm actually impressed they were able to bolster the bench considering what they had to work with. Feels like we have actual NBA players throughout the roster unlike years past. Feels like we have a Pacers like bench this year. They just need to figure out if Koloko could be that missing depth piece up front.

Picking up Hawkins costs us Peavy, a second and a second swap. Absolutely fireable decision. No excuse for it.
yup but people will stay bend over backwards to defend Dumars. Just completely unnecessary to even give Hawkins that extra year

I get the frustration of trading a 2nd with Hawk, but...

There's always a but following "i know this is bad".

MEM: Hawk/ Peavy/ 2nd
IND:
Pels: Mathurin/ AJ Johnson

Last year this would have been a steal of a trade.

Except that's not the trade. I don't think many here, at least that I've seen, disliked the Mathurin signing. I like it. But what you listed was not the trade.

Its not bad. That trade probably wasn't an option last season. It wasn't ideal in the way it happened but that's a very good exchange of assets.

People are upset we extended Hawk and attached a 2nd to him but 100% of the fanbase would support trading Hawk/ 2nd for Mathurin/ AJ Johnson.

That doesn't make it bad by any means. If Zion had to die for us to get Wemby then its still good we got Wemby... Doesn't make the asset exchange "bad".

Yeah it pretty much is, however you want to slice it. We don't get Mathurin without this lined up and we keep Hawk.

If you would rather have Mathurin > Hawk then stop whining like bitches and be happy it happened. If you'd rather have Hawk and not get Mathurin then I question your sanity.

So sick of fans questioning how we do things instead of the bottom line. We could trade/ cut every player on the team and if it led to a championship or future success then who gives a frick about 2nds or small contracts along the way. We got better with this deal that includes creating space for Mathurin.

Do y'all even realize your inconsistency valuing 2nd rd picks? Trade a bench player you like and 2 2nds are worthless trash, trade a bench player you don't like and the 2nds are now worth a top 5 pick and its the end of the world.

Last year we had Jordan Hawkins and this year we have Bennedict Mathurin. Only Pels fans would find some arse backwards way to view this as a negative move.

We legit had people in here a few months ago arguing with me that the assets in a trade are more important than the outcome. If you trade several 1sts and win a championship its a bad trsde because you "over paid for the value of the player". Retards.

It really ain’t defending Dumars, it’s an irrelevant move. You have 5 players younger than Peavy, and bey is 2 years older than Peavy. Imma use your philosophy if Peavy was on another team, would you want to trade for him? A 2nd round pick and a swap= 1 2nd given up.

There it is! Thought you almost went an entire post without calling someone a bitch. Forgot you can't have a normal conversation and someone can't make a Taj Gibson is old joke without you getting offneded. Anger management classes aren't working I guess.

Its Pels talk, kinda speaks for itself. We got rid of Hawk, added Mathruin/ AJ and yall BITCH. We get rid of Hawk and the first thing in peoples heads is to whine about it.

Hawk + 2nd for AJ Johnson is good enough as it is for the upside.

My last 2 posts were mostly generalized, you were just the last to comment. And I'm here for all the Taj jokes. We should bring back G Temple.

For sure, Pelicans got better. Fresh start for Hawkins ….. but we’ll always have Dallas.

He's gonna be buried on that Memphis bench. Memphis has so many players in that backcourt that I'd be surprised he gets any meaningful minutes.

Multiple posters thought we would have to give up much more.
Wasting less than we thought we'd have to waste isn't exactly a ringing endorsement, especially when darn near 90% of Pels fans immediately knew picking up Hawkins was a bad idea at the time it happened.

Can you tell me where I said anything close to that?

You are quite incapable of having any kind of rational conversation as you have demonstrated again and again.

All I would say is: Call balls and strikes. Be critical when it is warranted, be hyper critical when it is warranted, praise them when they do good things.

I know what you will say next, but I am quite complimentary when they do good things, they just don't do them a lot.

You don't NEED To defend them at every turn. They don't need you to do so, and don't know you exist. Be normal.

All that being said, it is getting to be time to turn off the negativity, even when it is warranted, and have some hope for the season and approach the team with open eyes.

Dumars and Co obviously could be totally right in everything they did. I hope they are.

How long ago was that? How does that even compare to league minimum shooters signed?

We found Jose and Naji, so now the Pelicans, of all franchises, should not care about 2nd rounders and don't need them.

Ok, sure thing.

How'd we get Herb Jones again?

He's simply a $100k roster spot that was needed to complete the trade. He will be waived.
