Hey Pelicans fans, I know how the world moved to streaming a decade ago, but we are going to move to old school antenna television from 40 years ago. We are so cutting edge. Who cares if the capital of the entire state can’t pick it up.
22 years and this team still can’t figure out how to bring their product to their fans.
Sorry, I am very salty. I have lived in subdivisions that didn’t have cox cable and couldn’t pick up hornets games, I’ve paid for different streaming providers specifically to pick up games, I’ve paid for ballys which was the most direct and easy way to acquire thus far as a streamer. Now we are going completely backwards. Now the only possible way to watch most Pelicans games would be to go cable television. That’s absurd.

You must have missed the part where the Pels are going to offer their own streaming service. Judging by what Phoenix and Utah set up it will probably be a $15 a month subscription using League Pass infrastructure to do the streaming.

And I hope that’s true. Reports were mixed on the “streaming” part of the sports specific channel they are working on. I would gladly pay the $15 a month if that becomes a reality and would make true the “availability” they have been preaching. If they make a streaming option, this could actually be the most available Pels games have ever been but we shall see.

They didn't have streaming last year either for legal reasons or they couldn't stand up a solution quickly enough. There's no reason to expect they won't have a streaming solution this season, as you mentioned it be absurd not to in this day and age. CC has been all over this story for a few years and he pointed out Utah and Phoenix most likely because this is a team leak that told him to look at it. They used the league infrastructure for a streaming solution and it's really a no brainer solution for any small market team.

The bounce experience last year was terrible for me. Guess I’ll be watching less games

Guess my only option is league pass. No more AD and Joel

I am 100% glad we are done with Bally's, they were the absolute worst. Everything about Bally's sucked. And this gives a wider audience that in theory would grow the fan base.
But in Bossier/Shreveport we only got a few of the games that were supposed to be aired.

Coming from someone who has had access to bally this whole time and won't be able to catch OTA coverage in Lafayette, this sucks arse .
Not trying to pay for yet another streaming service

The league pass will pick up the Pels Broadcast. They have every team except most Toronto games (TSN broadcast) are not shown.

I think we got them in Bossier, on Bounce, but the guide never showed the game was on. Just had to go to the channel. And I remember the quality being shite.

I guess my question will be if Direct TV Stream will add the Bounce channel these games are on, or do I have to order a digital antennae

Those deals are often multiyear in nature so I wouldn't expect it to change. Taking the national stream of Bounce for less money is probably one of the compromises that got the local rights deal done with the cable company in the first place.

So, I have to pay $15 in addition to my current bills to get a decent stream? That's $15 more than I'm paying now.

This is the part that they seem to be missing. They're going to drive off loyal fans for the prospect of some additional eyes that checked in for the novelty of it last year. Law of Unintended Consequences coming in hot.

I was paying $20 a month with Bally's so I'd be saving money.
