If a certain French PG is available when they pick at 6, it might get interesting.

Pelicans Debrief wrote a dream of a Jrue trade. Apparently Devin Booker is unhappy in Phoenix and wants out.

Jrue, JJ, 13th pick, 2022 1st round for Booker

I know it would never happen, but imagine BI, Zion and Booker

We wouldn’t play any defense, but we’d out score anyone

I just don't believe this. I think this is just big media trying to push stars to the big market teams. It's a narrative they will always try to push.
Maybe if they come out and win 25 games next year, then yeah, i can see him wanting out, but they are on the up and up, and no one would be surprised if they go out and win 45 games this season, and they still have a promising future to get better over the next few years. You could argue they have a better future than the Pels do when you compare the rosters.

Even if he’s unhappy he has no leverage being under contract for 4 more years.

The Booker rumours from a few days ago are false

He doesn't need to have leverage per se. If he wants out, he wants out

Gives Pheonix maximum leverage though being under contract for that long

Just farting around on the trade machine:

Kings get Wiggins, Ball, #21 from Philly

Warriors get Jrue

76ers get Buddy

Pelicans get Barnes, Horford, #2, Philly 21 1st.

I know Horfords contract sucks, but i still think he could be very useful to our team for the next 2 years as a player, and more importantly, as a veteran vocal leader. Year 3 is when you use him in a trade. I think he can really help Hayes develop, especially on the defensive end.

76ers do it to get some desperate 3 point shooting around Simmons/Embiid.

Kings do it to get rid of unhappy Buddy and put Ball next to Fox. Wiggins/Barnes really isn't a huge difference. If we had to give them #13 and we get #21, I'd be fine with that.

Without having much NBA trade knowledge, why would the Warriors want to acquire Jrue? They already have 2 of the best Guards in the world....

Would you rather:

Curry
Klay
Wiggins

Or

Curry
Klay
Jrue

It’s as easy as that

Because people believe that Thompson could move to SF or that you can start 3 guards. Holiday is only 6'3, but people believe that he can guard big wings as well. Everyone is saying either Holiday or Beal. But I don't think they get either one. It costs too much..

Because the most valuable type of player in the league right now is the 2 way perimeter player and as has been mentioned 3 > 2. I've also seen concern about Klay recovering from injury and all the miles he has on him. Jrue will help lighten the defensive load on Klay.

The Warriors have never given a shite about positions, and they made a move to get Deangelo Russell when they had fully healthy Klay and Steph.

And in my opinion, Jrue is a much better compliment to those two guys than Russell.

You can play all 3 together in small ball, and you can always have at least 2-3 in a game. It gives Steph and Klay more rest too. Jrue is a perfect compliment to both.

Weren't Curry and Thompson both questionable for the season when they traded for Russell? I always thought they would trade him whenever they got the best offer. He was never going to mix with those two..

Devi would probably not play for the Warriors for the first few months.

He is coming from Europe.

There is no Summer League.

There is no offseason program.

The draft is 2 weeks before Training Camp.

Rookies are going to be useless this year for any team that is remotely a contender, at least for the first few months of the season. Obviously there may be an exception or two...

But the Warriors are in total win now mode. They want a championship again THIS year.

Maybe a trade for them doesn't materialize and they go that route. But I'm quite sure there preference is to make a trade to get a really good player.
