Saying that I'm different from the average Pelicans fan is probably the best compliment I could get on here.
I was "okay" with the trade because I knew it was inevitable unlike 80% of the people on here. Go look at my posts, I wasn't just arguing why we should trade Jose, I was explaining to y'all why it 100% was going to happen.
"We are definitely going to trade Jose and it makes sense with Murray/ Fears + giving other young assets a chance going forward".
That's what I said. And people went off on me and claimed we were/ should trade Murray.

Most likely route is trading Hawkins and 2nds to the Grizzlies to offer Mathurin the full MLE. Clippers match or decline. Bey and Herb would not be traded.

And to me this ain’t even much of a big deal/trade to be up in arms over. Injuries, coaches, and star players are the main issues. A Jose for 2 2nds trade during this season is irrelevant

Now factoring in dumars. It could be that plus a Devonte Graham situation and trading more assets to the Clippers (picks) to not match it lol.

My problem with giving up even more 2nds is we only have 3 left. We’ve seen this offseason what 2nd round picks can get you, Aaron Wiggins, Beef Stew, Isiah Joe, DFS, Riscaher.
This new CBA makes 2nds way more valuable, we need more of them

What you said is the opposite of what I claimed. I specifically said I wouldn't freak out over a Mathurin/ Herb because we still have the salary of Poole/ Hawk to add assets.
I'm looking at our trade assets from the perspective of:
(2) 1sts/ $61mil
That's Herb + Poole + Hawk.
If we trade Herb then we probably plan to take back up to $61mil including sending out Poole/ Hawk. I doubt we trade Herb only to keep Poole/ Hawk, that doesn't make sense.

I do not understand the point in getting upset before we see what actually transpires, I get why everyone is on edge but let us see how it plays out…I think a lot of people want to see Joe fail, like it’s easier to expect the worse than work through the “rebuild” of the new regime.
Maybe everyone will be right, but we will have plenty of time to discuss when that happens…might as well try to think a positive option is available until it’s not.
I’ll choose to wait and see and hope for the best as a fan with some semblance of hope left, I actually think Joe has been very patient this offseason which is refreshing. He didn’t put a protection on the queen trade, but it didn’t hurt us in the end and he’s done some positive things on the administrative and coaching hire side.
I’m interested to see what the final plan for our roster is.
Maybe everyone will be right, but we will have plenty of time to discuss when that happens…might as well try to think a positive option is available until it’s not.

I don’t give a shite about any 2nd round pick. I’d rather Herb. And if you needed to use those 2nds later, then you just use Herb.
